Hi! I’m expecting my first baby this November and am looking for a birth doula who will be a calm, supportive presence throughout labor and delivery. I’m hoping for as natural of a birth as possible, but I’m also open to changing plans if it’s what’s safest for me or my baby. More than anything, I’m looking for someone who will help me feel informed, confident, and supported throughout the process. My partner will be with me during labor, and I’d love a doula who works well alongside partners and helps us both feel prepared. I’m looking for someone who provides emotional support, comfort measures, guidance through labor positions and breathing techniques, and gentle advocacy so we can make informed decisions together. Because this is our first baby, it’s important to me to build a trusting relationship before birth. I’d love to learn about your experience, what’s included in your services, how you support clients during labor, and whether you offer prenatal and postpartum visits. My birth plan is still in work, but I would generally am ideally looking for a physiological/ low-intervention birth. Im a first time mom looking for day care for approximately 8 hours a day 4-5 days a week. For provider, I’m looking for a certified postpartum Douala with at least a few years of experience. No requirement for second language spoken but I speak Spanish fluently and some Mandarin. My son is 3 weeks old and is currently exclusively breast fed. I’m interested in help with meal prep/cooking, laundry, and minimal cleaning around the house. I need more sleep during the day and would like baby care while I take a nap or two. I’m going to start pumping and would also like help getting the baby to start taking a bottle. My estimated budget is approximately $70 an hour.

I plan to give birth at UCLA Santa Monica. I really don't have much in the budget, maybe a couple thousand. I'm potentially interested in hypnotherapy and aromatherapy, but not opposed to an epidural, and would like a very quiet and calm environment with minimal yelling. Absolutely no circumcision under any circumstances. Apparently I have a chance at getting reimbursed for doula services if they work under a license of some kind, so that would be preferred. I have Blue Shield PPO, in case that's helpful. I'm 35 so "Advanced Maternal Age", and have been flagged as high-risk for my weight.
