I plan to give birth at Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce. Our budget is less than $1,000. I am determined to have a vaginal birth. I am open to getting an epidural but would like to keep a low dose to feel the contractions and know when to push. I would like the doula to communicate with the doctors and nurses to make sure I am not being forced to do something (ie. breaking my water) if it is not necessary.

Hello! My name is Carly Kelly. My husband, Jack, and I are expecting our first child this December 2024. We’ve chosen U of M Ann Arbor as our hospital and are looking for doula support for our low intervention water birth. Our plan is to labor at home as long as possible, and go to the hospital for a midwife assisted water birth with natural pain relief methods such as essential oils, position changes, walking, and nitrous oxide which is a pain relief method exclusive to U of M. We are looking for a doula who will support us during labor and delivery, as well as in the weeks that follow with post partum care and newborn care. Overnight care would be a huge bonus for us as we are seeking overnight care a few nights a week. We are looking for a doula who works on her own or a team of 1-2 doulas. Our home is equipped to support a doula and make her job easier with comfortable accommodations, a clean and organized home, and good pay.
