Support during and after birth help with my current child while in delivery and help after coming home someone who has a good amount of experience and comes with compassion and mercy no judgment zone please
I plan to give birth in a hospital. I am leaning towards an all natural birth with no epidural.
I plan to give birth in a hospital, however I would like the option of water therapy provided before birth, or a water birth if possible. I’m still pretty early in my pregnancy so I don’t have a specific birth plan written out yet. I have Medicaid and a low to medium budget. The more I can get covered by my insurance the better. I would like a lactation specialist for after baby is born.
Interested in an unmediated birth. Pros/cons and how to work through contractions naturally
Plan to give birth in the hospital but want an advocate
I am currently looking for a birth doula to help support my husband and I while birthing our first child. Due to a previous back injury I am not a good candidate for an epidural and so am looking for someone to support me in an unmedicated birth. My nursing care team has been excellent at providing me multiple options and I am looking for someone who can support me in successfully delivering using natural methods. I am also looking for someone who can also support husband as well as he is amazing and wants to know confidently when best to offer certain help. Our budget is fairly flexible as having a doula is extremely important to our family. Currently we are planning to birth at Beacon in Kalamazoo so if you are able to be at that hospital that would be ideal.
I plan to give birth at a hospital. This is my second pregnancy and I am planning to try for TOLAC/VBAC this time. I was induced at 40W 6 d but overall the first pregnancy was normal. I opted for c-section as the labor was progressing too slow and the epidural failed.
I plan to give birth at home. My estimated budget is relying on Medicaid or blue cross insurance. My birth plan is at home in a pool.
Would like minimal medical intervention, probably in a hospital just in case, just had first pregnancy miscarriage at 6 weeks but looking to try again soon. Saw OB male and had awful experience, looking for better support and education
Hello Leanne, My name is Mary Lucas and I used to work as a volunteer at Reach the Forgotten in Kent Co. Jail. There I met Cassandra four years ago. There is a long story which brought her to this place including addiction and homelessness. She did have a baby when she was 17 years old and the birth did not go so well (She has told us) as she had little support or training. Therfore she is a little scared about the birth process. Cassandra is currently in Rehab at Our Hope, Grand Rapids MI and doing really well. She had previously came to the hospital (St. Mary's Trinity, GR) with a severe blood infection in her foot and shoulder, a while back and during that time she detoxed. She agreed to go to Our Hope Rehab after the infection was mitigated and she was discharged from the hospital. There is a ministry that I am now associated with that is supporting her. We all love her. She is a awesome young woman and loves the Lord with passion. Cassandra is a Medicaid patient. We are not sure if you accept Medicaid and doula work this late in a pregnancy, but we could use some help. Cassandra really responds well to patience and love, like we all do. If you do not accept Medicaid, the ministry would be open to taking care of your fees. Because she is in Rehab there are some complications with communication. We could set up a professional visit, but talking on the phone is only allowed two times a day currently until she has been in the program longer. If you meet her you will love her. She has had a tough road so far.... but she is in a really good spot now in her faith journey. Cassandra did not know what a doula was, so when I described what doulas do, she said she would like one. She only asked that they would be Christian. So please prayerfully consider this opportunity. Thank You, Mary Lucas
I would like to become a doula and I'm looking for information on the demand of doulas in this area. If you have suggestions for a place to become a doula. Ive been researching online, but was hoping to touch base with someone who would be willing to share some knowledge and experiences
Simple and laid back mama looking for support soon
I’m giving birth at Sparrow Hospital and I’m looking for a doula who accepts McLaren Medicaid. Since this is my first child, I don’t have a set birth plan yet. I need someone present at birth and for postpartum care, and perhaps some night care with light household duties. I looking for someone is has been actively consistency in this business with over two years of experience.
I need a doula to help me get through birth and maybe after post partum!
Currently considering working with a doula if it’s not too late for me to begin doing so. I am 26 going on 27 weeks at the moment. I plan on giving birth at covenant hospital in Saginaw and feel like the extra support in the delivery room would be helpful as this is my husband and I’s first child.
I’m looking for a doula that specializes in hypnobirthing for assistance during my hospital birth to hopefully achieve an all-natural vaginal birth with as little intervention as possible. It would be nice to find someone that accepts my Insurance (Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield)
