I am seeking a licensed midwife for a planned home birth. I am looking for someone who supports a holistic, spiritual, and low-intervention approach to birth while maintaining safety for both me and my baby. I would like my birth experience to include prayer, affirmations, freedom of movement during labor, natural comfort measures, and a calm, peaceful environment. I want a provider who views birth as a natural process, respects informed decision-making, and is comfortable incorporating my spiritual beliefs into my care. I am interested in prenatal care, labor and birth support, postpartum follow-up, and breastfeeding guidance. I am hoping to build a trusting relationship with my midwife and create a birth experience that feels empowering, safe, and sacred for my family.
I plan to give birth at the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Karmanos Natural Birth Center in Royal Oak. I am looking for a doula who is supportive, knowledgeable, and confident in advocating for me in a hospital setting. I want a calm, peaceful, and empowering birth experience. My ideal environment includes dim lighting, soothing music, and a relaxed atmosphere. I am hoping for a natural, low intervention birth (water birth if possible) with a focus on breathing techniques, movement, and holistic comfort measures. I am looking for someone with an earthy, holistic approach who values education, informed consent, and emotional support. I want a doula who will help prepare me mentally and physically before birth and also provide guidance and support postpartum. Advocacy is very important to me I want someone who will help me feel heard, respected, and safe throughout the entire process.

I am looking to consult a home birth midwife who serves the Dearborn Michigan area. My estimated budget is $3000-$4500 (must offer payment plan). I would like to have a birthing tub available. As hands off as possible, and no surprise midwives who I haven’t approved. I would like my husband to be the only one present along with possibly another friend to watch our 2 year old. Delayed cord clamping, no bath for baby, vitamin k drops (no injection), save placenta(to be buried), labor in any position I feel comfortable, TENS machine, massage gun, and birthing combs for pain relief. May hire a doula. I am Native American (Ojibwe) and prefer someone who is spiritual but not religious. Must be inclusive and politically left leaning. Bonus points for a person of color, but not required.

I would like an home waterbirth with providers who preferably accept insurance. I’m not sure of my budget yet. My birth plan which is subject to change: delayed cord clamping, natural birth no pain management, skin to skin for mom and dad for the first 60 minutes, no eye ointment, vit k drops instead of a shot. That’s all for now but I’m still writing it. I would like a midwife who has experience with at least 7-10 home water births.
I’m a new mom and I really nervous but excited at the same time. I am four weeks pregnant. And I just need a few skills and some things I want to learn.
