I prefer to give birth at home. We don’t have a set budget, but would like to work with something reasonable. My birth plan has minimal intervention unless medically necessary. I want an unmedicated birth, unsure if I prefer a water birth at this point or not, my husband will be with me. This is our first child so we’re learning as we go. I’d like delayed cord clamping until the cord is done pulsating, immediate skin to skin if possible, and we do want the erithromycin eye ointment and vitamin k for the baby as soon as recommended. Freedom of movement is very important to me so that I can keep myself distracted. Hoping to work with someone who is very good at communication and teaching. I feel more confident when I know all my options and outcomes. We would like to be transferred to a hospital if a problem is noticed, we don’t want to wait and see what happens.

I am looking for more of a personable experience than a typical obgyn. I have anxiety and think having a midwife that is more available for questions or concerns of mine would better suite me. I plan to give birth in a hospital, I am hoping for a midwife that takes blue cross insurance

Emily is looking for Midwife
Location: Fair Haven, MI 48023, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: March 14, 2027
Midwife and/or doula. I went to my first OB appt yesterday and after the OB recommended the Covid & flu vax, I realized I can’t trust anything she says. I would like to have the most natural, non-invasive pregnancy & birth possible while also keeping it safe and having access to a hospital if needed. I think home or a birth center would be best for me, as I have severe medical trauma from past experiences. Budget is still up for discussion.

I have a hospital birth plan, I don’t really have a budget I also have insurance. My hospital birth plan included the following - [ ] Natural(NO C SECTION UNLESS AN EMERGENCY) - [ ] No epidural/ potcin - [ ] Tub birth - [ ] Hospital birth - [ ] Delayed IV (better mobility) - [ ] No baby monitors unless I feel needed. I’m the mom i will know if something’s wrong with my baby - [ ] Delayed cord cutting (dad cuts cord after placenta is out - [ ] No VACCINES - [ ] We will do the first bath - [ ] NO ONE LEAVES THE ROOM WITH THE BABY - [ ] Immediate skin to skin - [ ] Natural water break - [ ] NO CERVIX CHECKS(except first) - [ ] Delay going to the hospital until contractions are too close - [ ] Birthing ball (maybe peanut ball - [ ] I want maternity gown(no hospital one) - [ ] I don’t want them to wipe a baby all the way. I require any provider who works with me during my birth and pregnancy to have a minimum of 2 years experience. And understand that all women’s body’s are different. I have chronic illnesses and my pregnancy and a bit different from others. Especially when it comes to what I can do and what it has done to my body. I want a licensed midwife. That is non negotiable. I only speak English so there is no need for another language or any translation. I do have a processing disorder and tend not to understand if people speak to fast so someone with patience and the ability to see you as someone giving life to the world not just another pay check. I expect my birth doulas to not push personal preferences onto me seeings as how I have a specific goal and plan in mind. Asking questions and figuring out any loose ends is different but a no is a no. That goes for anyone who works with me. For a night nanny, the responsibility’s would be, laundry, dishes, light cleaning. I will be Breast feeding so i will have a frozen stash. If I am up I will use my Breast and store the rest. Apart of the night nanny job will be preparing meal preps once or twice a week. That includes, dinners for the week. Which you can either do all together or cut in half and do half the week at a time. It will also include snack prepping. I cannot have 3 full meals a day and often are required to snack and I need to be able to go to the fridge or cab it’s and have Tupperware with already made snack options. Here’s an example Fridge: Tupperware organizer with, Apple and peanut butter, with a sour candy and cheese slices Pantry: trail mix, dried fruit, mini chocolate. As you can see I have a bit of a sweet tooth lol. Our night nanny’s are required to have all CPR, First aid and child care certificates needed. Along with being the minimum age of 21. All food in the house will be open to you. We don’t expect you to haul in your own food when working at night of all things.
