I want to birth my baby at home. I live in Grand Rapids but came to Lansing for a few months. I’m unaware how this process begins or where to start.

We are currently exploring doula services for the birth of our first child and are looking for a supportive, knowledgeable provider who aligns with our values and needs. We are planning a hospital birth in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Our estimated due date is around [insert due date], and we would like support during labor, delivery, and potentially postpartum. Our budget is flexible depending on services offered, but we are ideally looking in the range of $800–$2,000 for birth doula services. I plan to give birth at St Mary’s hospital birth center in Grand Rapids, MI. I am hoping to have a vaginal birth with low interventions. I am open to having an epidural later in the labor process but I really could use some guidance and and advocate as I am hoping to avoid a c-section if possible. Planning to give birth to my third baby at trinity health muskegon. Would like birth support for extra advocacy, postpartum support as I'm a graduate student, and need lactation support as I had failed exclusively breast feeding with my first two despite wanting to breast feed. I'm currently unsure of budget. I go with the flow in terms of birth. I had epidurals the first two times but would prefer not to. I'm not opposed to an epidural but would prefer to give birth pain medication free. I want my baby to receive vitamin k, b, and erythromycin, I want the baby to stay in the room with me at all times unless medically necessary, and want the cord delayed clamping until the cord is white. I’m looking to have a natural unmedicated birth at the hospital. Also looking for guidance throughout my pregnancy on what I should be doing to prepare for labor and delivery. I don’t have a huge budget either. This is my first pregnancy so I’m new to all of this. But I do know that I want to inquire about having a Doula for this pregnancy.

I plan to give birth at Butterworth Hospital, I have been using a midwife my whole pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy and I am expecting a baby girl. I plan to have an unmedicated, natural vbac in a calming environment. I don't want an epidural, pitocin and low medical intervention unless medically necessary. I have priority health medicaid that covers doula care.

I am currently looking for a birth doula to help support my husband and I while birthing our first child. Due to a previous back injury I am not a good candidate for an epidural and so am looking for someone to support me in an unmedicated birth. My nursing care team has been excellent at providing me multiple options and I am looking for someone who can support me in successfully delivering using natural methods. I am also looking for someone who can also support husband as well as he is amazing and wants to know confidently when best to offer certain help. Our budget is fairly flexible as having a doula is extremely important to our family. Currently we are planning to birth at Beacon in Kalamazoo so if you are able to be at that hospital that would be ideal.
