This is my first birth. My psychiatrist recommened a doula as I have sexual abuse trauma and do not do well under any sort of pain management or sedation. I have done a tremendous amount of healing and do well in any type of environment. Since this is new for me, I am older (35) and my history I am looking for someone who can just help me stay in a good mindset without having a risk of any panic. I am covered under Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. I am willing to pay out of pocket if needed. Budget around 2,500 dollars. I plan to give birth in Traverse city and do natural vaginal birth. I have not yet been told I would need a C-section so am really focusing on prenatal stretching and health to assist in natural. Thank you so much for your time.
