My wife and I are having a baby, I am carrying but she would like to nurse as well. We would like to figure out how to induce lactation for her
I want to birth my baby at home. I live in Grand Rapids but came to Lansing for a few months. I’m unaware how this process begins or where to start.
One month old takes bottle great but has milk transfer problems when on the breast. Latch seems great but is not getting enough milk from the breast. Will fall asleep when trying to nurse. Supply is also not a problem.
My baby girl was born at 34 weeks and was in the NICU for 4 weeks. She had a lot of feeding difficulties which resulted in her being on a feeding tube. She is home now and eating great from a bottle. When she was in the NICU I was never offered to breastfeed her and was honestly just wanting her to eat so she could be home so I didn't mind that she was being bottle feed. Now that we are home I want to breastfeed but I am unable to get her to latch. She tries and definitely show interest when I put her to breast however I find we both started getting frustrated after 10-15 minutes of trying to get a latch. I have a great supply as I pumped around 11 times a day and through the night during her NICU stay and continue to pump whenever I have time now that shes home. I have tried a nipple shield and it does work on occasion but she doesn't seem to like it very much. I am at a total loss with her being a preemie we didnt get those first latches and her first feeding was at a bottle. I am will to try just about anything to make breastfeeding a possibility for us. I would like to work with someone that has experience with preemies and that accept insurance

Planning on a home birth with my fourth pregnancy. Planning an all natural birth, obviously if complications occur I need someone that can make the call to go to the hospital. Not exactly sure what my budget would be, but am looking for someone with a payment plan that I could use to pay for their services.
