I’m looking for overnight newborn care about a month after I give birth so I can catch some sleep because I’ll be returning to work sooner than I thought. Some assistance with newborn house chores (washing bottles/clothes) would also be great.

I plan to give birth in the Ann Arbor/ypsilanti area at St. Joes hospital! I am hoping to have a mostly unmedicated birth (I would like to try the laughing gas) but of course am open to changing my mind as I have never experienced birth before and don’t really know what to expect. I would love to learn pain management skills and also have someone be able to help advocate for me as I figure out my birth plan more in depth. I am worried about breast feeding as well and would love someone who could guide me through that too. I have always dreamed of breast feeding but I have heard that it isn’t always as easy/intuitive as one might think!!

Hello! My name is Carly Kelly. My husband, Jack, and I are expecting our first child this December 2024. We’ve chosen U of M Ann Arbor as our hospital and are looking for doula support for our low intervention water birth. Our plan is to labor at home as long as possible, and go to the hospital for a midwife assisted water birth with natural pain relief methods such as essential oils, position changes, walking, and nitrous oxide which is a pain relief method exclusive to U of M. We are looking for a doula who will support us during labor and delivery, as well as in the weeks that follow with post partum care and newborn care. Overnight care would be a huge bonus for us as we are seeking overnight care a few nights a week. We are looking for a doula who works on her own or a team of 1-2 doulas. Our home is equipped to support a doula and make her job easier with comfortable accommodations, a clean and organized home, and good pay. Hello, I am looking for an individual to provide care to both infant and mother during the day. By taking care of the infant, it allows the mother’s rest and recovery to become be a priority during the daytime hours. This candidate should be loving, non-judge mental, and supportive to a mom who is still recovering mentally and physically from an intense birth experience. The goal is to promote healthy bonding between mother and baby. Feeding and lactation background is a bonus. Ideally, this position would be at least 3 days a week but up to 5 days - with 4 hour shifts ranging between the hours of 10am - 4pm. My husband and I are going to be first time parents to a baby girl in June. We are looking for full time help with care of new born and postpartum care for me for 2 months. We will be giving birth in a hospital and need help once we get home. We have a dog who is friendly, but if anyone is allergic or not comfortable alternate arrangement for the dog can be made. I plan to give birth at Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce. Our budget is less than $1,000. I am determined to have a vaginal birth. I am open to getting an epidural but would like to keep a low dose to feel the contractions and know when to push. I would like the doula to communicate with the doctors and nurses to make sure I am not being forced to do something (ie. breaking my water) if it is not necessary.
