Insurance covered only Scripps mercy Partner training and what to expect in a hospital birth with plans for epidural
I am planning a homebirth. I have a very tight budget. I have Anthem HDHP (PPO). My birth plan includes laboring and delivering without pain medication at home with my CNMs.
I am 33 weeks pregnant and my husband and I are last minute looking for a birth doula to help educate us during the rest of the prenatal period and help me deliver my baby (with the goal of unmedicated) at Scripps La Jolla. We value being at home for as long as possible, a drama free (and even fun/lighthearted/playful) hospital experience with as little interventions as possible, a calm, serene, lights out, music on, utilizing a birth tub and shower if possible, birth experience. I’ve been working on affirmations and reading positive unmedicated birth stories to help keep my mind prepared but of course know that interventions are sometimes necessary, but they can often be avoided if unnecessary with proper education and communication. I don’t want to feel like birth happened to me, but rather I knew my options and I chose what I wanted to do the whole time - whenever possible.
Hospital birth Fully covered by tricare prime Would like all natural birth not interventions or medication At least 10 years experience
I plan on giving birth at a hospital in San Diego called Sharp Mary Birch. I'm more interested in the at birth services versus the postpartum due to living in a studio apartment. I hope to have an unmedicated birth, there has been talked about the possibility of induction due to some risks factors that are being monitored (gestational diabetes and high blood pressure readings). I would like to stay under $2,000, preferably $1,500.
Scripps memorial La Jolla is the hospital I will deliver at. Attempting vbac after short umbilical cord lead to c-section with first labor. Estimated budget is around 2k, ideally under. I would love to labor at home as much as possible and utilize natural pain management in order to to prolong the epidural as long as possible ( last time I got it at 6 centimeters).
Will have hospital birth, no specific birth plan, need a doula that is covered by Kaiser insurance.

My wife is 10 weeks pregnant with our first child. We've yet to settle on a specific OBGYN but are hoping to work with Dr. Damon Cobb and give birth at Scripps. We are looking for someone to provide a few in home / live sessions to educate us on the process, then be present at and around delivery, and maybe 1 visit after birth. We would like someone who is certified and has a backup plan for day of delivery.
I’m looking for a birth doula that will guide and support us in the labor & delivery journey. I would love to get to meet with them 2-3 times prior to the birth in addition to having them present at the time of birth (major plus for any contact after too!). I plan to give birth in a hospital. Our estimated budget is $2,000-3,500. I’m feeling nervous about our first labor and birth experience, so I would love a doula focused on providing us with info necessary to help us feel prepared & confident to mitigate stress, as well as a doula with a calming and comforting energy. :)
Prenatal doula $1,200 through AFSPA insurance the foreign service benefits plan.
hospital birth without epidural, pain management, no vaginal tears, empowered birth
My name is Suparna. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant, and my estimated due date is November 5, 2026. My husband works at Qualcomm, and we are covered under the UHC Qualcomm insurance plan. I am planning to deliver at Scripps Mercy Hospital. I would like to inquire about your doula services and whether you are available around my due date. I would also appreciate any information you can share about your services, packages, and how you typically support families during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. If you are not available for my due date, would you be able to refer me to another doula from your team or professional network?
Hospital Buget: $1500 Birth Plan: Holistic natural, med free...
Hi! I’m giving birth at UCSD Jacob’s Center via their midwife program. I’m looking for a doula to be available from my 37 weeks of pregnancy until birth, and would like my doula to be available the day I give birth. This is my first pregnancy, I’m excited/nervous and both my husband and I would love the support + comfort a doula can provide.
I plan to give birth at a hospital. I currently have medi-cal. I have not created a birth plan but I would want to deliver with the least amount of intervention necessary. I want to be able to move freely and not be restricted and attempt to give a natural birth with no epidural. I am 25 years old and this is my first pregnancy so I just wanted to be supported and advocated for throughout my pregnancy especially as a first time mom and can provide emotional support to my partner as well. I am looking for someone knowledgeable, confident, supportive and will advocate for me during my labor.
