I’m giving birth at a birthing center in San Diego with a midwife. I need a bilingual doula in Spanish and English. I also need a post parting doula or a night shift nanny. My estimated budget is for $34-50 per hour for an average of 6-8 weeks. My birthing plan is a natural birth, no epidural, with a midwife and no Obstetrics. I plan to move freely about and give birth in the position I feel most comfortable in that moment. I want my husband to be present in the delivery room.

I plan on giving birth at Mary Birch hospital late December and am searching for a doula within the SHARP network. I have a high risk pregnancy due to my age (41) and gestational diabetes, and am preparing myself for what feels like an inevitable early induction/c-section and would like an advocate for that process. This is my first child and many of my friends have expressed how helpful it was to have a doula for the postpartum adjustment period. Because this service is covered by my health insurance, my budget is very flexible.
