About me

I’m Emily. I love working as a full spectrum doula, helping empower moms to give birth with confidence, recover confidently and be the amazing moms they already are. Compassion and empathy are two of my greatest strengths and I have a passion for providing emotional support for women as they go through one of the most life changing seasons they will ever experience. I grew up in Placerville, California and moved in 2022 to Lexington, South Carolina where I now live with my parents, one sister and three adorable cats. I grew up helping take care of my aging grandparents. We were always serving them in some capacity whether it was entertaining my grandpa with dementia by working on a puzzle with him, cleaning up the kitchen, or chopping up fallen tree branches on the property. When I am not working I love to volunteer to serve at church, sing in the choir, paint, and cuddle with my kitties. I also enjoy spending time with my family and with my best friend John who, like me, has high functioning autism. We enjoy getting to know each other’s quirks and understanding things about each other that most people wouldn’t get. Words are not his strength, but I enjoy learning to use my emotional intelligence skills to read through the lines when he can’t put what he means into words. Being that person that can understand him in a way most people can’t means the world to me. These are some of the things that have kindled my passion to work as a doula. Seeing people’s physical and relational and emotional needs and doing the absolute best I can to fulfill them brings me joy and satisfaction that I am doing what I do best and using my unique skills to be a blessing to other people and to glorify God who gave me these skills!

As a full spectrum doula I offer support from beginning to end of your birth journey so that you can feel confident, educated and supported every step of the way. As a childbirth educator and birth doula, I am equipped to offer you evidence based education and support before and during labor and delivery for a confident birth. As a postpartum doula and breastfeeding counselor I am able to continue that care beyond birth and into the postpartum period, assisting your family as you adjust to life with your newborn

Childbirth Education Workshop
My Childbirth Education Workshop is a single session class covering all the need-to-know childbirth basics and it is a great option if you're looking for some basic education without committing to a whole series of several classes. In this class I will cover pregnancy to postpartum and give practical tips for how to weigh your own options and confidently make the decisions that are right for you. I will educate partners in how they can be the most sensitive to and supportive of their partner's needs.

Birth Doula Support
My birth doula support extends beyond general childbirth education to provide you with personalized education tailored to your specific pregnancy and birth. With multiple prenatal visits, I offer coaching in comfort measures for labor and expert help in writing a birth plan that reflects your preferences. I will go on call from 37 to 42 weeks of your pregnancy and attend your birth to provide professional care and support during labor.

Postpartum Doula Support (Daytime)
My postpartum doula support comes alongside you even further in your birth journey to the postpartum period. I offer compassionate support and education about what to expect postpartum. I also offer home support to assist with basic household needs while you focus on recovery and bonding with your new baby. My daytime support is at a minimum of 4 hours at a time.
