Hi there, My name is Hannah, and I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant and seeking a birth (+/- postpartum) doula for my upcoming TOLAC at Christus in Santa Fe with the midwives. A bit of background: my first birth in San Diego ended in a traumatic emergency c-section. This is my second, and I’m preparing for what I hope to be a redemptive VBAC with this pregnancy. I had a doula with my first and found her support invaluable. For this time around, I’m specifically looking for someone who: Is trauma-informed or trauma-sensitive. I’m very modest by nature and want support in maintaining boundaries during labor (physically and medically, with staff). I would also love someone to help guide my husband so he can best support me—especially as I’m hoping to labor without medication if possible, as I tried last time (and our doula was exceptional at helping him to help me!). I went 24 hours last time but ultimately had severe back labor and got the epidural (after which came more cascade of interventions...). Has experience with movement-based or hands-on techniques. I respond extremely well to bodywork, massage, and hands-on techniques for pain control and grounding during labor. My first baby was acynclitic and malpositioned, so I’d especially appreciate someone with Spinning Babies and/or rebozo (or other type of training to achieve optimal baby positioning). It is not a must, but would be a huge bonus. My estimated due date is January 13th. If you have availability, I’d love to learn more about your approach and services, as well as your fee structure. I am expecting my first baby after 5 years of infertility/IVF and a previous miscarriage. I will most likely require a planned C section due to previous fibroid removal surgeries. I am interested in a doula that has experience with C section that can help me prepare for pre and post needs.

I plan to give birth at the hospital, I want to try and have a unmedicated birth but if the pains too much I want to go over options, no epidural, I want to be able to give birth other then on my back, I want to extend cord clamping until it’s white, I don’t want the baby to leave the room if he doesn’t have too and my partner will be there with him if he has too leave the room, I don’t want my placenta yanked out,

We are looking for a birth doula to accompany us with our second baby. 1st baby came into this world at home with no medical interventions and was not a water birth. Birth plan would look the same now, although we are also open to water birth. Budget under 1000 CAD. My conditions is me & my husband live by ourselves with no parents or people that can help around us.
