Looking for support for my labour and delivery. Someone who can accommodate my needs and coach/assist me through this. I’m looking to have a minimal- no intervention water birth and would be important to have someone who is experienced in this. This is my second pregnancy; my last delivery was unmedicated (besides pitocin) delivered vaginally with no complications. I am set up to give birth at the hospital at this moment but if I did happen to find a midwife/doula I would be interested in a home birth if I had the right supports set up. My estimated budget would be 900-1200$ Here is my detailed birth plan so far if I do end up giving birth in the hospital. Birth plan: -Low lights, fairy lights electric candles set up sound healing music. -Breathe through contractions -No epidural, Water birth. Maybe laughing gas if pain is really bad. -Absolutely no being induced -Natural water rupture. -No membrane sweep. -Privacy minimal staff in room no students.(having students learn while in labour made me stressed and feel uneasy) -Intermittent monitoring not continuously monitoring. -Delay cord clamping 7-15 min. Cord is white -Are cervix checks necessary? Only checked if requested by me -Do I have to stay in hospital if I had no interventions? -Naturally birth placenta, no pitocin or cord traction. -Wait for my body to push on its own no forced pushing. -No fundal massage unless there excessive bleeding. -Vitamin k drops not injected.

Help with my new born and the myself as well. Baby is 3 days old. I prefer a Nigerian, if not available any experienced souls is fine. At least must have taken care of 10 new born babies, should have first aid certification…especially experienced with new borns. We are in the NorthWest quadrant, will also be nice if doula drives and can take me to my post partum appointment, not mandatory tho

Hospital may be necessary as I have positive test results for lupus anticoagulants (a misnomer, not necessarily lupus, but my blood clots quicker than normal). Local doctor wants me to be on Lovenox from 8 weeks until delivery. I’m wondering if there is any other way that is proven safe for my condition. No idea about budget, but I have a faith-based medical bills-sharing program that will cover the cost. My birth plan would be to give birth in my home if possible, which is 1 mile from the hospital. But if that is not advisable, in the hospital, to have emergency care at hand if necessary, but I want as low-intervention and low medication as my condition will allow. I want to mantain as much autonomy in my birth experience as I possibly can, and I don’t want doctors or nurses intervening, demeaning, or guilting me into anything unless I decide I want that care. My birth experience would be quiet with my husband there, with a shower, walking, eating small snacks to keep strength up, drinking herbal teas and using natural herbs and supplements to make the birth easier. I would like a midwife or doula( not sure which I need) to be an advocate and offer support and peace of mind through the process. If there are complications within her expertise of care, like turning a baby, etc. I would prefer most of my care to come from a midwife/doula.

I plan to give birth in Medicine Hat hospital. This with be my third time giving birth and after having complications with my first two births, I’m hoping to have someone there to advocate and speak up for me. I’m hoping to have minimal intervention from doctors/nurses - I believe being induced and frequent/unnecessary intervention (with my second which ended in emergency c-section) caused the complications.
