About me
I am a Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Postpartum Doula, and Certified Infant Sleep Consultant with over a decade of hands-on experience supporting families through the newborn and postpartum stages. I am also certified in Safe Sleep Education and HIPAA Compliance, and I am an active member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), allowing me to provide evidence-based care in alignment with OB-GYN and perinatal teams. My expertise lies in overnight newborn care, particularly with high-needs infants, including freshly discharged NICU infants, premature multiples, and medically complex babies, with experience supporting individualized feeding plans, including NG tube care and feeding tube management, in close collaboration with parents and medical teams. I am also experienced in developmental sleep conditioning and establishing structured yet gentle routines that promote healthy sleep patterns. I provide attentive, high-level postpartum support, ensuring both baby and parents are cared for with intention, discretion, and professionalism. I approach every family with a calm, intuitive presence, creating an environment that feels both restful and reassuring. My care style is gentle, detail-oriented, and rooted in safety, while remaining adaptable to each baby’s temperament and each family’s unique dynamic. I take pride in not only supporting infants, but also in guiding parents to feel confident, informed, and at ease during this transition. Having worked with singletons, multiples, and extremely preterm infants, I am comfortable in high-responsibility roles and thrive in environments that require both attentiveness and emotional intelligence. I am deeply committed to safe sleep practices and maintaining the highest standards of care at all times. In addition to my clinical experience, I bring a strong background in client relations, business development, and creative production, along with leadership training from Harvard Business School and a professional certificate in Corporate Finance from Columbia. This allows me to integrate seamlessly, communicate effectively, and uphold a high level of professionalism in every interaction. I am seeking opportunities with families who value a thoughtful, elevated level of care, where I can provide consistent, nurturing support while helping create a sense of balance, rest, and confidence during the postpartum period.

Ratings and reviews
It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Fontanne Bassey. She cared for my baby, Amelia, and was truly exceptional in every way. Fontanne stood out immediately for her professionalism, warmth, and deep expertise in newborn care. Fontanne specializes in working with newborns and demonstrated remarkable knowledge of baby development and activities. She thoughtfully introduced engaging, age-appropriate routines and executed them diligently and on time. She was always punctual, dependable, and communicated with me clearly and consistently throughout the day. Fontanne kept detailed track of Amelia’s naps, feedings, and general well-being, which gave me complete peace of mind as a parent. Beyond her childcare expertise, Fontanne went above and beyond in every aspect—cleaning bottles, offering to do light laundry, and keeping the nursery tidy and organized. Her calm, nurturing presence and proactive approach made her an invaluable support to our family. I wholeheartedly recommend Fontanne to any family, childcare agency, or educational program seeking someone who is compassionate, reliable, and deeply knowledgeable about infant care. She exceeded every expectation and will undoubtedly bring the same excellence, positivity, and dedication wherever she goes. Sincerely, Alma Frith

Letter of Recommendation For Fontanne, Night Nurse August 4, 2026 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to give Fontanne my highest and most heartfelt recommendation as a night nurse. Fontanne cared for our son from the day we brought him home from the hospital in March 2026 through 17 weeks of age in July 2026 — a stretch that covers the hardest and most disorienting months of the newborn stage. We originally hired her for a 10-week contract, and we extended it again and again, because it quickly became clear that we did not want to go a single night without her. We do not have family living nearby, and Fontanne became an irreplaceable source of support during the season we needed it most, giving us the rest and confidence to genuinely thrive in the newborn stage rather than simply survive it. I recommend Fontanne without any reservation to any family seeking a night nurse who is highly skilled in newborn care and sleep training, and who is also genuinely warm, trustworthy, and invested in the well-being of the whole family. We are endlessly grateful for the months she spent with us, and any family lucky enough to have her will feel that same gratitude. Please feel free to reach out directly if you would like to discuss our experience with Fontanne further. Best, Kathleen

Having Fontanne as our Newborn Care Specialist during our baby’s first few months was truly such a blessing for our family. As a first-time mom, I was adjusting to so many changes at once, and having someone so knowledgeable, caring, and dependable by my side made those early months so much easier. Fontanne was always punctual and professional, but what stood out most was how naturally she cared for our baby and supported me as a new mom. She helped me with breastfeeding and lactation, answered so many of my questions, and gave me reassurance during a time when everything felt new. One of the biggest gifts was being able to get some much needed sleep. I could actually rest knowing my baby was in safe and capable hands, and after finally getting consistent sleep, I honestly felt like a new woman. That support made such a difference in my recovery and in how I was able to enjoy those early weeks with my baby. Fontanne also helped us establish a healthy routine and worked with our baby on sleep. By 14 weeks, our baby was sleeping through the night, which was a huge milestone for our family and something we are still so grateful for. She became such an important part of our experience during those first few months. I would recommend Fontanne to any new or expecting parent looking for someone who is knowledgeable, patient, reliable, and genuinely cares about both the baby and the parents. We are so thankful we had her during such a special time in our lives.
