I am looking for a birth doula who will also do 1 postpartum visit several days after birth to check in and answer any questions we have about newborn care (no expectation for chores/housekeeping). This is my first baby. I plan to give birth in a hospital (Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA). I plan to labor at home until I am approaching active labor, then my husband and I will go to the hospital. I am not intending to have an epidural because I want to be able to move around and labor in different birthing positions. I am looking for a doula who has at least 5 years of experience and has attended a birth at Mary Washington hospital system before. I would prefer a doula who has experienced labor themselves at least once. My estimated budget is $2,250.

I plan to give birth at Inova Fairfax Women's Center. I live in Fredericksburg VA. I am looking for a Christian/ Christ centered doula who is well versed in high risk black maternal health and can advocate well for me. I want hands off care as much as possible. Not many cervical checks. NO episiotomy or forceps. Labor the way a position feels comfortable to me. I need someone who is going to help when fear tries to come up. Someone not afraid to pray and set the atmosphere well. My biggest fear is becoming a statistic and something happening to me during or after birth because no one listened to me and how I feel about my body. I have CareFirst Administrators. I plan to give birth in a hospital. We’re gathering price points right now. We’re looking for a birth and postpartum doula; we would really like to have someone who could help with overnight support in the first couple months.

I am currently on my second pregnancy with twins! I reside in Fredericksburg but do plan to give birth at Stafford hospital, just like I did with my first. I am hoping to go natural but am flexible in my birth plan due to the risks of having twins (preterm labor, c section, etc). I am mostly looking for someone that can help provide care during the nights in the very beginning for the twins. I will be breastfeeding so I’ll be up as well but am really wanting help on changes, potential bottle feed once or twice through the night while I pump, and putting them back to sleep. I hardly slept with my first and struggled deeply with PPD and would like to avoid that at all cost. I am open to any caregiver but would prefer female only, and at least 2-4 years experience.

This is my second and I feel if I had someone walking with me who understood the process, even the nutrition and emotional side of post and prenatal life it would be helpful.

My husband and I are moving to Maryland from out of state during my 3rd trimester. (Military family!) My first pregnancy was high risk and we spent 8 weeks in the nicu with my daughter. I am looking for a birth doula who can help me both figure out a birth plan, as well as coach me through a more “normal”/typical birth experience. I’m not opposed to pain management, but would like to try to attempt all natural. (I managed this with my last daughter, but my labor was induced, came on very very fast, and she was just under 5 lbs!)

Planning to give birth in the hospital, birth plan Is to try to go unmedicated with hypno-birthing techniques & an advocate for me when I cannot advocate for myself. Birth plan- yes to golden hour, cord clamping delayed, yes to all necessary vaccines, yes to circumcision. Willing to try N2O but no IV pain medications. Yes to epidural if hypno-birthing Is not going well & yes to c-section IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
