I am due October 5th, 2026 and want to give birth at Sentara hospital in Harrisonburg, Va! I am looking for a birth doula to provide physical and emotional support. I have Medicaid and would need a doula that can be fully covered by Medicaid. I am 21 weeks and a first time mom so I am still figuring out my birth plan.

Hi this is my second pregnancy and with my first I had an nonmedicated vaginal birth and it went super well. I took the Bradley course which helped both me and my husband prepare well. I delivered at Mary Washington hospital and went through Mary Washington Obstetrics. I had my mom and husband in the room with me and both were critical in helping me cope through contractions. My total labor was around 8 hrs and I only pushed for 15 mins. With baby number two I plan to deliver the same way if possible (vaginal non medicated) at Mary Washington or Spotsylvania hospital. I am looking for a doula to come with me to the hospital to aid in coping and coaching through contractions. I am not sure yet if my mom will be able to be there as she may be helping watch and care for my first born daughter, thus I feel the need to have one more person (other than my awesome husband) to rely on during labor. I would love for insurance to cover a doula but not sure if that’s a possibility. I have United healthcare. I don’t have an estimated budget just want to know the options.

Looking for support while in hospital through labor and post partum as family support may be limited. Once home I’ll need help with night feedings, I currently have a 2 year old. I plan on nursing and pumping.

I plan on giving birth at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and I would like have a doula present during birth and before to help prepare for birth. I would like to delivery naturally and unmedicated. I would like for my provider to have experience working with and advocating for African American mothers especially in a military facility. I would also like any consultation with lactation since I have gotten a breast augmentation. My budget is around 7K.
- Lewis Gale - $1,000 give or take - This is my second baby. They will be 20 months apart. With my first I had a 3rd degree tear due to using the vacuum to get her out. My OB has said I am eligible for a c-section however I would like to try to do another vaginal birth. I am open to getting an epidural however that was a rough with my first and I got it too early (before they broke my water) so by the time the baby came I could feel quite a bit. I would like to labor without for as long as I can and potentially get one closer to baby’s arrival. This way I am allowed to be up moving and changing positions utilizing a bath or shower etc.
Chesapeake Regional Hospital, Chesapeake, VA Developing birth plan. I know I want an epidural and delayed cord clamping.
I am currently on my second pregnancy with twins! I reside in Fredericksburg but do plan to give birth at Stafford hospital, just like I did with my first. I am hoping to go natural but am flexible in my birth plan due to the risks of having twins (preterm labor, c section, etc). I am mostly looking for someone that can help provide care during the nights in the very beginning for the twins. I will be breastfeeding so I’ll be up as well but am really wanting help on changes, potential bottle feed once or twice through the night while I pump, and putting them back to sleep. I hardly slept with my first and struggled deeply with PPD and would like to avoid that at all cost. I am open to any caregiver but would prefer female only, and at least 2-4 years experience.
