I plan to give birth at Inova Fairfax Women's Center. I live in Fredericksburg VA. I am looking for a Christian/ Christ centered doula who is well versed in high risk black maternal health and can advocate well for me. I want hands off care as much as possible. Not many cervical checks. NO episiotomy or forceps. Labor the way a position feels comfortable to me. I need someone who is going to help when fear tries to come up. Someone not afraid to pray and set the atmosphere well. My biggest fear is becoming a statistic and something happening to me during or after birth because no one listened to me and how I feel about my body. I have CareFirst Administrators. Insurance through my husbands job. I need services that will be covered.

This is my first pregnancy/baby and I am terrified of childbirth and labor. upon research I heard that a doula can help provide comfort and emotional support during birth. I am hoping to find a doula to help with that. I will be giving birth at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. I don’t currently have a budget, just looking to find the right match for me. as of right now my birth plan is to try to go unmedicated as I have a spinal fusion and i’m not sure if I can have an epidural.
