My baby was not able to breastfeed right after birth. He was admitted to the NICU for 5 days due to respiratory issues, so we did not have the opportunity to initiate breastfeeding or establish a latch early on. After bringing him home, I felt hesitant to attempt breastfeeding because of his health concerns.
