About Genicia

My name is Genicia Battle, known in the Ifá community as Ifáfúnké Àṣọre. I am a Full Circle Doula and Birth Companion, trained through the SMC Full Circle Doula Birth Companion Training. A program rooted in the cultural, historical, and spiritual traditions of African American midwifery and birth work. I became a doula because every birthing person deserves to feel seen, supported, and spiritually connected throughout their journey. I know the difference it makes to birth in a space that feels warm, honoring, and sacred. My vision is to offer families not only emotional and spiritual support, but also culturally rooted healing tools that nurture the womb, body, and soul. Birth is not just a moment! It is a portal! My purpose is to ensure that every mother steps through it feeling whole, powerful, and profoundly connected to her divine nature.

Birth & Postpartum Doula services

At Idaji I provide full-spectrum doula support that honors the sacred journey of motherhood through ancestral care, herbal healing, and holistic guidance. My services are designed to meet you where you are. Whether you are preparing for birth, navigating labor, or restoring balance in the postpartum period. I offer care packages that include birth planning, nutritional guidance, herbal support, and spiritual preparation to help you feel grounded and confident as you prepare to welcome your baby. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and spiritual support with techniques such as breathwork, massage, rebozo positioning, and advocacy to protect your birth vision. We have care packages that honor the sacred first 40 days after birth with belly binding, herbal baths, nourishing meal support, and emotional wellness practices that help mothers rest, restore, and bond with their babies. In addition, I offer specialized care options such as sibling support during labor and postpartum, antepartum care for high-risk pregnancies or bed rest, and fertility & womb healing services that blend herbal traditions, bodywork, and spiritual alignment. Each service is rooted in the belief that mothers deserve a village of care, and I walk alongside you with compassion, wisdom, and intention at every stage of your journey.

I talked to Genicia and explained how I was feeling. The back story is...I had a really bad headache. One of those headaches that affects not just your head but every part of your face and the back of your neck. It would not go away, and it was very painful. Shortly then I remembered that Genicia gave me a tea bag of her Simmer Down nerve tea for days like this. When I had her tea, my headache started to calm down. I was no longer in pain. If you ever experience a headache like this, I suggest getting in a comfy spot and having a cup of her Simmer Down nerve tea and watch how it works.

I am honored to have crossed paths with Genicia. She is truly a blessing in my life. I shared my pregnancy journey and expressed my desire for a holistic doula. Well, let me tell you, she was incredibly responsive to my texts and calls, no matter the time of day. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always has a listening ear, ready to provide solutions. She is not afraid to let me know that certain aspects of my pregnancy concerns do not fall within her scope of practice and that WE should discuss them with my OB. I truly appreciate her willingness to provide me with a curated tea I take daily, affirmations to boost my spirits, and a listening ear to my concerns.
