I am looking for in Hospital hands on birth support. For emotional and physical aid. A kind advocate to help voice my needs for mine and babies best interest . If possible I am hoping for an unmedicated natural birth. As for budget hoping for $500-$1000? Not feeling sure what the going rate is for specific in hospital aid.

Hospital, I would like an elective C-section; if not, then a medicated vaginal birth, I need someone who has a holistic approach, maybe a bit more knowledge in psychology and trauma-informed care.

I am giving birth in New Haven, CT at Yale Hospital. My OB is Sound OBGYN out of Guilford, CT. I have Cigna insurance and I am hoping to have a vaginal birth.

I plan to give birth at a birth center in Danbury, CT. I would like to use Medicaid/Husky insurance. My birth plan is as natural as possible with no medical interventions, as well as using Bradley Method.

We are a couple in a difficult situation. Ting (20 years old and 19 weeks along) lives in Middletown CT and has one more year before finishing her Bachelor's degree at Wesleyan University. She is working on this final year while being pregnant. She will be giving birth during her last semester, and probably right around the time of her thesis project. Dan (36 years old) has just accepted a two year contract teaching theater in Myanmar, and has been there to working this position since late July. Because of this, he is only able to provide financial assistance and emotional support from afar until December, when he will return to assist with the birth. Ting and Dan's relationship is strong and stable, and assuming the plan moves forward as described, their financial base will also be reasonable. We would likely have a support budget of up to 1,000 per month. This is our first pregnancy, and we're excited to welcome our baby to the world, but we hope to find the support of an experienced birth doula who can help us through the journey. We are enrolled to give birth at Connecticut Childbirth and Women's Center in Danbury. Although Ting has just begun her new semester at Wesleyan, she is having a pretty difficult time managing the physical changes and a continued and persistent morning sickness (more like all day everyday sickness). Ting is insured through Wellfleet (Cigna), so ideally we will find someone licensed through them to help, but we understand that doula care is often out of pocket.e

I plan on giving birth at Uconn health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. My budget is up to $1000. My current birth plan is to be induced on October 6th, 2026 because I have a high risk twin pregnancy as well as adrenal insufficiency requiring monitoring and stress doses of IV steroids. This is my 1st pregnancy. I plan on attempting a vaginal birth but am comfortable having a C-section if medically necessary.

Hi ! My name is Nadia. I'm expecting my first baby on December 19th and I'm looking for a birth doula. We live in Easton and I'll be delivering at Yale New Haven's Bridgeport campus, with Women's Obstetrics & Gynecology in Trumbull. What I'm hoping for: a medicated hospital birth. I'm not trying for an unmedicated delivery and I'd rather not be talked into one— I want someone who is fully on board with an epidural and will help me get the best version of that experience rather than treat it as a fallback. Some context on where my pregnancy stands, because it shapes what I need: I'm 35, I have PCOS with insulin resistance, and my glucose screening is still ahead of me. At my anatomy scan we learned the umbilical cord attaches near the edge of the placenta rather than the center (marginal cord insertion, 1.8 cm). Because of that I'm on serial growth scans. At my most recent one, at 24w6d, the baby's estimated weight had dropped from the 52nd percentile to the 18th, with her abdominal measurement falling further than the rest. Fluid is normal and she doesn't meet criteria for growth restriction, but we're watching the trend closely and I'm pushing for shorter intervals between scans. What that means practically is that there's a real chance of a smaller baby, a possible early delivery, and more monitoring and decision points than a typical labor. I'd like someone who is comfortable in that environment. What I'm looking for in a doula: Someone who can help me keep track of what's happening medically and translate it in the moment so I understand what I'm agreeing to when decisions come quickly and advocate for me in real time where I might be physically/emotionally compromised. Help with labor positions, including after an epidural. If the baby ends up in a difficult position I'd love someone with Spinning Babies training or similar. My two biggest fears, honestly: First, being separated from my baby after delivery. Given the growth situation there's a chance she needs extra observation, and the thought of her being taken somewhere I want to avoid at all costs. I want help protecting skin-to-skin and the first hour wherever it's medically possible, and I want someone who knows how to ask the right questions and push back (within reason) if a separation is proposed. Second, the epidural not working or only working on one side. I want someone who can help me cope if there's a gap and who will keep pressing for anesthesia to come back and fix it rather than letting it ride. A few practical questions: Do you have experience specifically at Bridgeport Yale? What's your backup arrangement if you're at another birth when I go into labor, and have I met that person?
