We are first time parents looking for a post-partum doula to support us in the transition into parenthood to promote positive mental health. Starting with the nitty-gritty, working with someone who is willing to take proactive health precautions is non-negotiable due to mum's and baby's exposure to immunosuppressant medications - doctor's orders! We are looking to use funding via the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program, but are open to self-funded options if the right fit comes along.
I am expecting my first baby, due in December 2026, and I am looking for overnight newborn care in Chilliwack for roughly the first two to three months. I would like an experienced night nurse, night nanny, or overnight postpartum doula to care for the baby overnight — feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and resettling — so that my partner and I can sleep. I am looking for someone with hands-on newborn experience, a current criminal record check, and infant CPR/first aid certification, ideally insured and able to be a consistent caregiver each night. I plan to breastfeed and also bottle-feed with expressed breast milk (with formula as a backup), so I would like someone comfortable both bringing the baby to me for feeds and handling bottle feeds independently. Alongside caring for the baby, I would also appreciate help with light household tasks overnight while the baby sleeps, such as laundry (both the baby's and general household laundry), washing and preparing bottles, and keeping the nursery and common areas tidy. Support with gently establishing healthy sleep routines would be a bonus. Please note that we have a dog who is protective of our home, so the caregiver will need to be comfortable around dogs and willing to build a relationship with her over time. I am hoping for coverage of roughly three to five nights per week, with overnight shifts of around ten hours. My estimated budget is around $35–55 per hour, and I am happy to discuss based on experience and qualifications.
Need support person to help wife overnight at the hospital after birth
I’m looking for help at night with my newborn twins as I had to deliver vaginal and c section. Recovery is really hard right now as my husband is trying to help but he needs to get some rest too as he runs his own plumbing business. My mother is here helping for the next 3 weeks as we also have a 3 1/2 year old daughter but I don’t want to stretch her too thin as she’s already helping with my toddler, cleaning, cooking etc. so my biggest thing is Night nanny helping with Feeds Changing Putting them to sleep So that my husband and I can get a little bit of rest. I am unsure of a budget since I’ve never done this before with my first but I would love someone who has at least 3-5 years experience in the night nurse shift specifically. Thank you so much
