We’re a married couple expecting our first child and are looking for a supportive, experienced doula for one-hour prenatal and postpartum sessions covered by our Anthem PPO plan. We are in our mid-to-late thirties with a small senior dog. Mom is a high-risk pregnancy with higher anxiety, so we’re looking for someone calm, reassuring, and experienced in supporting first-time parents. Our primary goal is to build confidence through hands-on guidance and education rather than just caregiving. We would love support with newborn care basics including feeding (breastfeeding, pumping, and paced bottle feeding), diapering, burping, soothing techniques, swaddling, gas relief, and sleep support. We’re especially looking for someone who can actively teach and guide us during sessions so we can learn and feel confident caring for our baby. We would also appreciate guidance on what is normal for newborn behavior vs. when to be concerned. Hands-on help with bathing (especially the first few times) would be very helpful. For postpartum recovery, occasional guidance such as sitz baths, padsicles, and belly binding would be appreciated. Light baby-related tasks (cleaning bottles/pump parts, baby laundry) are a plus if time allows. Who the care is for: Our family. I will have a newborn daughter (due date around December 2026, possibly November if she arrives early) and I have an 8 year old son. I will be recovering postpartum and want to stay focused on bonding with the baby without getting pulled into household tasks. Days and hours needed: Daily, evening hours (roughly dinner time through bedtime), for about 2 to 4 weeks, starting after the baby arrives. Planning an unmedicated hospital birth at Hoag Hospital Irvine for my first pregnancy. Already have my birth plan figured out and mainly looking for support and advocacy during labor for me and my partner and to learn any helpful information for first time motherhood. Also looking for support and knowledge in breastfeeding where I can improve! Looking for a doula that accepts Tricare Select. I plan on needing doula support during the whole labor and my insurance covers a total of 6 hours of doula support before and/or after birth.

First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I know very little about labor/birth and have been afraid of it for a while. I'd like someone who is well versed in physical support, and of course mental/emotional support and birth education. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. My goal for this birth is to have a calm, natural, and empowering experience with as few medical interventions as possible. My first preference is a planned home birth, with a birth center as my second choice if home birth is not appropriate. I would like to have an unmedicated labor and birth, with the freedom to move around, change positions, use comfort measures, and listen to my body throughout labor. I would like my doula/midwife to provide continuous emotional and physical support, encouragement, and guidance while helping me feel informed and involved in decisions throughout the process. I want to create a peaceful environment where I can feel safe, supported, and confident in my ability to birth my baby. I understand that plans may need to change if a medical concern arises, and I am open to transferring to a hospital if it becomes necessary for my or my baby’s safety. My priority is a healthy baby and a healthy mother while preserving as much of the natural, low-intervention birth experience as safely possible.

Birth at Kaiser, Irvine. Looking to see if service will be covered by my insurance

I had a traumatic birth experience with my first child born in February of this year. I am now pregnant with my second child and would like a doula to be of support to my fiance and I while navigating my second pregnancy. I plan to give birth at a hospital, I don’t know which one yet because I don’t want to go to the same one I previously went to. I can send my previous birth plan for reference, there may be some things I add or take off. I just want someone who is personable and able to be emotionally supportive for my little family. I would like someone there every step of the way and to be there during my birth.
