I need a doula. My wife plans to give birth at UM Capital Region in Largo, Maryland. We are seeking a doula in zip code 20785 who our health insurance will help cover. Do you take insurance? How much do you charge and for how many sessions?

I am looking for a doula that can be a support system as well as an advocate for me while I am in labor. I want to feel confident, know my rights and know that someone is there to speak up for me when I may be unable to or uncertain. I plan on having a birth plan created. I do not have an estimated budget as im not sure what that would be. But I do plan to try and use my insurance if possible.

I plan to give birth in the midwifery unit of the MedStar Washington Hospital in Washington DC. I am looking to have as few interventions as possible and plan to birth unmedicated. I would strongly prefer a doula of Christian faith, though shared faith is not a requirement. I’m only interested in doulas with experience in a hospital setting and would prefer a doula with at least 3 years of experience. Ideally, my doula would also be able to take photographs periodically throughout labour and delivery, though I know this may not be likely. I am not interested in postpartum care.

I'm looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional birth doula who can provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and delivery. My birth preferences include: - I plan to receive an epidural for pain management. - I would like encouragement, comfort measures, and guidance before and after receiving the epidural. - I value clear communication, a calm presence, and someone who will help me feel confident and supported during labor. - I would appreciate assistance with labor positioning, breathing techniques, advocacy, and helping my support person participate in the birth experience. I currently have Maryland MedStar Health insurance. I am specifically looking for a doula whose services are covered by my insurance.
