Hi, I’m England, founder of Womb + Root Wellness. 🌿 I’m a mother of three, full spectrum doula, lactation consultant, herbalist, and Reiki Master. My journey into birth work started long before I became a mother. I found myself naturally supporting and advocating for other mothers, while also navigating my own reproductive health journey. For years, I struggled with endometriosis without a diagnosis. As a Black woman, I experienced firsthand what it feels like to have your pain dismissed, your health overlooked, and your voice unheard within the healthcare system. I also watched the women closest to me including my mother and sister experience traumatic births and a lack of the care, information, and respect for autonomy they deserved. When I became pregnant and had my own children, I became my own doula. I learned how powerful it is to understand your body, know your rights, trust your intuition, and have someone in your corner. Those experiences became my purpose. I created Womb + Root Wellness to be part of the change—especially within Black and Brown birthing communities. My work is rooted in education, advocacy, holistic care, nourishment, and empowerment, helping mothers feel informed, respected, supported, and heard throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. I am a Certified experienced Full-Spectrum Doula trained to provide personalized fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss support. I am motivated in delivering heartfelt emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and informational guidance. My goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and labor process. I am passionate about holding the space and empowering birthing persons find their inner strength and assist them and their partners in having the birthing experience that they desire. Most importantly I want to make a difference in my community one birthing person at a time. One of my main motivations is to help decrease the maternal and infant mortality rate among the black and brown community in Indianapolis.

I am a DONA-trained Birth and Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Support Counselor, offering holistic doula care to birthing people during the prenatal, birth and postpartum stages of their birth journey.

As a Traditional Homebirth Companion, I bring the tradition of the wise woman to your birth. For more years than we can count or recollect, this was the way women brought their babies into the world - at home, surrounded by women who knew birth, knew physiology and knew how to support it. Women who knew time-honored skills, traditions, plants and nutrition. Before regulation, laws and governments got in the way, women were birthing safely, on their own terms. Taught and mentored by elders who are bringing back these traditions and skills, I’ve stepped into this work to provide more options and possibilities in my community, so that babies are born safely into their parents’ arms, and so that women are treated with dignity and respect.
