I am looking for a birth and postpartum doula that is covered by Kaiser insurance, who is very knowledgeable about the birth process, potential complications and newborn care, who is open to attending hospitals births. I am planning to give birth at Kaiser South Bay Harbor City. I would like to labor at home with my partner and the doula for as long as possible until it’s time to go to the hospital. I am open to an epidural at the hospital but if I’m doing okay or labor is progressing quickly I am open to not getting one. I hope for an uncomplicated vaginal birth. I’d like the doula to know the difference between interventions that might be offered to me at the hospital that are not necessary and what is necessary/ will help my baby to be born healthy. I’d like a certified doula with multiple years experience, age 38+ or older. I am 38 years old, first pregnancy, have a very supportive partner, and hope to breastfeed.

I plan to give birth in the hospital, with Kaiser. I am considered high risk due to my age, 40. This is my first birth. My provider has suggested induction may be recommended.

First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. My husband is pretty squeamish and he may need some mental support too. I am a patient of the midwives at Orange Coast Womens Medical Group and I plan to give birth at HOAG Irvine. First baby, planning a hospital birth at Los Robles in Thousand Oaks. Hoping for an unmedicated, low-intervention birth with freedom to move, a water tub if available, and my husband as my primary support person (hoping he gets to catch the baby). Open to nitrous oxide, but want to avoid the Epidural as well as Pitocin unless medically necessary. After birth I'd like delayed cord clamping, immediate skin-to-skin, and a hands-off approach to the placenta unless intervention's needed. I'd also love postpartum support to help us through early recovery and newborn care. Budget: covered under Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), so looking for providers who accept that coverage.

First-time mom planning a hospital birth at Pomona Valley Hospital and looking for a birth/postpartum doula with a practical, evidence-based approach. I would like support during pregnancy with education, preparing for labor, helping me understand my options, and creating a birth plan/preferences document. During labor, I’m looking for someone calm and supportive who can help me advocate for myself, ask questions, and help me process decisions without pressure unless medically necessary. Postpartum support is my biggest priority. I would like help with recovery, breastfeeding/pumping support, newborn guidance, emotional reassurance, and preparing to return to work as an elementary teacher. I am hoping to breastfeed/pump and would value someone knowledgeable about lactation and pumping for working moms. I am open to holistic approaches as long as they are grounded in research and evidence-based care. I am not looking for an anti-medical approach and am comfortable with hospital care and interventions when medically necessary. I would prefer someone experienced with first-time moms and familiar with Pomona Valley Hospital or the surrounding area (La Verne/Claremont/Upland/Pomona).
