I am expecting my first baby in Seattle and am looking for a bilingual (English–Spanish if possible ) postpartum doula covered by Anthem. I plan to give birth in a hospital interested in postpartum support, including newborn care guidance, breastfeeding/lactation support, and recovery assistance after birth. Ideally, I’d love prenatal visits, labor support, and postpartum follow-ups. If this sounds like a fit, I’d love to hear about your experience, availability, and package options, including pricing and postpartum services
Looking for a lactation consultant so my baby and i can have a successful breastfeeding journey
I'm looking for a lactation consultant. My baby was born at 36 weeks, we started out doing triple feeding but have been exclusively breastfeeding with one night time bottle (breastmilk) for about 3 weeks now. I'm looking for some help evaluating his latch and interpreting his feeding behavior. He was pretty bad reflux and projectile vomiting that I'm wondering any changes to our breastfeeding could improve. He seems to have less issues with reflux after his nighttime bottle than he does after feeding at the breast. He often sounds like he is gulping air and leaks milk while nursing. He also unlatches 10-20 times while nursing and seems to get frustrated after a while and becomes pretty fussy. I'm never sure when he is done eating. He will start spitting up during nursing and I will stop to burp him, he will continue to root and cry until I put him back on the breast, and the cycle continues.
Plan to give birth in a hospital, vaginal, with an epidural. Unsure about budget. Trying to understand costs.
Latching and transfer assessment. Flange sizing and pump help.
