About me

Hello! My name is Kate. I am a pediatric nursing assistant, postpartum doula, and nanny. I believe every family deserves care regardless of their ability to pay or their established social circle. I have a special place in my heart for medically complex families, helping them through the trenches and seeing the light and love a special needs child brings. I believe in creating a calm, judgment-free environment with open communication about how best to support your family. I practice evidence-based newborn care with a focus on nurturing parents to feel comfortable taking care of their baby in a way that aligns with their wishes and values. When I am not working, I enjoy Pilates, being outside, going on walks with my dog, and spending time with my partner and family.

Service introduction

There are many services postpartum doulas provide; here are some of the ones I do. As part of my doula work, I provide light housekeeping, such as laundry, cooking, and washing bottles and pump parts. I provide full family care, including supporting siblings in their transition to being a big brother or sister, and the feelings and experiences partners have. I provide newborn care, including diaper changes, feeding, soothing, baths, developmentally appropriate play, and specialized care unique to each baby. I support the mother in lactation, breastfeeding, self-care, healing, emotional support and processing, and mindfulness. This is a partnership and by no means a complete list of how I can support your family. Specialization --- Working in pediatric healthcare has given me the experience and confidence to work with a wide range of medical needs. I have worked with children and families who are premature, use a feeding tube, have a tracheostomy, colostomy, and various other medical devices. I provide support while in the NICU, both at the hospital, at home, and virtually. Babies who are born prematurely have an adjusted age, and my services don't end just because your infant meets a specific milestone. I also support families with transition home from the NICU or prolonged hospitalization. If you have any questions or want to connect, please don't hesitate to reach out. I want you to find the best match!
