Hello and CONGRATULATIONS! I began providing birth support to friends years ago, but without formal training. More recently, I encountered women who gave up or never initiated breastfeeding and so, became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Then, as I continued my education in that field I found significant statistical proof of the positive impact Doulas have in birth and thereby, lactation. So, it made sense to finally certify :-D I’ve completed DONA training and am in the process of meeting their certification requirements. Part of that is three births (priors don’t count), which will be supported free of charge. Meanwhile, I’ve acquired NICU-Informed Doula designation, attended a Spinning Babies workshop, and am close to completing WaterBirth certification. I continually strive to increase knowledge and improve my services. I offer heart, hands, knowledge and a variety of comfort measures, many of which I share with you and. your partner in advance (if wanted). Equally important, I offer evidence-based information as needed to enable timely, appropriate conversations with your OB/Midwife and foster a team approach to the birth experience you desire. Words aren’t enough to describe the joy of birth; It will be an honor to support yours! Please call and we’ll see if it feels like a good fit :).

Thank you for reaching out! I provide birth and lactation support; some part may be possible virtually. I do not charge for basic information regarding lactation. If you are having difficulty, however, I must fully document, but may be able to resolve, refer to appropriate provider or at least give you some initial steps, without charge. Beyond that, we can discuss fees - they are somewhat dependent on travel and duration. I value making a difference more than I do money, but I have expenses to cover. Birth support and fees can be discussed during an initial call. I am typically available weekdays between 10:00am - 6:00pm at 941-704-3076. For immediate need outside of those hours, leave a message and I will do my best to respond swiftly.
Katherine was super supportive during 2 of my son's births. She is very thoughtful and makes sure you are as comfortable as possible, especially throughout the labor process. I was blessed to be able to have her as my labor coach.

I have had the joy of knowing Katherine for many years, both as a trusted family friend and a compassionate presence during some of life’s most important moments. Her natural ability to provide comfort, support, and guidance—especially in emotionally intense situations—makes her an exceptional fit for the role of a doula. If you’re looking for someone who will treat every client with care, dignity, and heartfelt dedication, I can’t recommend Katherine highly enough. She is someone you can trust to not only meet expectations, but exceed them.

I wholeheartedly recommended working with Katherine. Being able to tap into her wealth of knowledge when issues arise (or in order to make informed decisions) is wonderful. She is such a caring and genuine soul and will support you in every stage of your journey. Her encouragement during pregnancy and postpartum was so helpful, even as a third time mom, to help me navigate discussions with my provider, troubleshoot breastfeeding concerns, and more!
