My role as a newborn care specialist and postpartum doula is to support parents and provide nurturing, responsive care to infants in their first 4 months of life (age adjusted.) I offer evidence-based care and resources, and help set realistic expectations for those early days with a newborn (or multiple babies.) It’s an honor to help you become more confident in yourself, help you get the rest you need, and support your goals for your family’s life. Whether your priority is setting routines, stretching sleep durations, maximizing your milk supply, or learning the basics of baby care - I’m here to respectfully partner with you along the way. In time, you’ll believe that you know your baby best and you’re what they need the most. Services offered include daytime or overnight newborn care, postpartum support, lactation education, parent instruction on infant safety, developmental milestones, hygiene, sleep shaping, feeding, infant routines, nursery set-up, and recognizing the signs of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (this is strictly educational.) While I encourage self monitoring and action planning for postpartum mood disorders as early as possible, I do not diagnose or treat any conditions. I am not a licensed medical professional. On a case-by-case basis, I offer sleep coaching (through video, phone call, or in-person consultations), and sleep training (in-person support for no more than 4 nights/days only if an infant is at least 5 months old, and at least 8 hours per night.) Sleep conditioning and sleep conditioning, in which I help your family set a healthy sleep foundation, is a complimentary part of my NCS services, so in many cases, more rigorous “sleep training” is not necessarily needed. I’m a Safe Sleep Ambassador trained through Cribs for Kids. Please be advised that I strictly adhere to the American Academy of Pediatrics Safe Sleep Recommendations while babies are in my care: this includes placing baby to sleep alone, on their back - on a firm, flat sleep surface that is free of objects - in a crib/pack n’ play/bassinet without bumpers, blankets, pacifier clips, or toys. I support all types of families that follow various traditions, practices, and philosophies without judgement. As a professional and non-family member, it’s especially important I model and adhere to AAP recommendations and evidence-based practices during the time I work.

As an overnight Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, I wake up with your baby/babies for feedings, wash bottles, change diapers, clothing, and bedding, store pumped milk and complete up to 2 loads of laundry *if time allows and is not disruptive to infant/parent sleep. I’m here to provide evidence-based guidance and resources about baby and postpartum care. During the daytime, I’m happy to offer support with dishes, laundry, and meals.
Kayla is an amazing doula who helped with our newborn twins girls for 5 months. She came 3 nights a week and by the end of the contract the babies were sleeping through the night!! The whole experience was so much better than I even imagined. I was so terrified of sleepless nights with twins while also taking care of our 3 year old during the day. Kayla supported us through all of it, and I cannot be more thankful.

We had Kayla do night doula work with our baby for 4 months, 3 nights a week. She was absolutely amazing and helped us navigate the newborn period. The night doula part helped me and my husband maximize sleep. She was also helpful with cleaning pump parts, folding laundry, trimming baby nails, and setting up bottles. My baby adored her and really felt at ease with her. Kayla also is a wealth of knowledge and experience so I got a lot of great advice on baby care…everything from putting on onsies to soothing to sleep. We trusted her completely. She was always on time and professional. She is also very kind and gentle and an easy person to work with. I recommend her 100%!

Kayla helped us with our newborn (1-2 months) on a weekly basis at night to give us some reprieve. She helped us with night feedings, washing of bottle/ pump parts, laundry folding, milk storage, etc. We loved how calm and patient she was with our colicky baby. We wish we could use her more often.

Kayla cared for our 6 month old baby and 3 year old as a nanny and overnight for two nights. Kayla was wonderful with our kids and a highly knowledgeable and skilled nanny. She always came prepared with age appropriate activities, put together fresh, healthy meals for the kids, and provided kind and loving care. She also supported my pumping and milk storage efforts, cleaning pump parts and storing milk between sessions. Kayla is absolutely a professional in this work!

Kayla took care of our 4 month old daughter for 1 week (40 hours) and was highly attentive, engaged, and knowledgeable with infants and young babies. She engaged with floor time, reading, outdoor exposure, and daytime naps following wake windows. She helped thoroughly wash and when needed sanitize all bottles and pump parts. She also provided resources and support with nursing when asked. Our daughter was in very good care with Kayla and we enjoyed the time very much.
