I am Kimberly S. Myers, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with more than 20 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and the early parenting journey. As the Chief Education Officer of Pregnancy Concepts LLC and a long-time maternal–child health educator, I have guided thousands of parents through the tender, joyful, and sometimes overwhelming moments of welcoming a new baby. Do you accept insurance for lactation consultation appointments?

Yes, we accept United Healthcare, Some Blue Cross Blue Shields Plans, Cigna, Aetna and other plans. We work both with The Lactation Network and Wildflower Health, third-party companies that will verify your insurance and file claims if your insurance is accepted. Can I still book lactation consultation appointments if my insurance is not accepted?

Yes. After you have completed insurance verification through The Lactation Network (TLN) or Wildflower Health and find that you are not covered, we can schedule a free 15-minute chat to discuss next steps.

How many visits are covered by insurance?

Please note: the number of covered visits varies by insurance plan. If your insurance is accepted, you will be informed of the number of lactation consultation visits included in your coverage.

I am ready! How do I begin the process to book a lactation consultation appointment?

Great! I am ready too! Step1: Verify your insurance. Step 2: Book a 15-minute free consultation. Step 3: Appointment booked and lactation education and support begins.

What can I expect during a home visit?

An initial home visit typically lasts up to 2 hours. During the appointment, I may do the following: Review your medical intake form. Address your breastfeeding issues and concerns. Conduct a physical or visual exam of mom's breasts. Perform an oral exam of your baby. Observe your baby nursing and possibly bottle-feeding. Weigh your baby before and after a feeding to assess milk intake. Develop a personalized care plan that may include email follow-ups with helpful links, videos, or referrals to specialists, if needed. If paying out of pocket, provide you with a Superbill to submit for insurance reimbursement.

Does Kimberly accept insurance?
