About Krissy

Hello, my name is Krissy Olson and I am a birth and postpartum doula serving the western Illinois region of Knox, Mercer, Henderson, Warren, Henry and Rock Island Counties. I believe birth is a deeply personal and transformative experience, and every person deserves to feel informed, respected, supported, and empowered throughout the journey into parenthood. As a birth and postpartum doula, I offer compassionate, nonjudgmental support that centers you, your baby, and your unique vision for this experience. I believe there Iis no single “right” way to give birth or become a parent. Whether your birth unfolds at home, in a birth center, or in a hospital; whether you are planning an unmedicated birth, choosing an epidural, or having a planned or unplanned cesarean—I am here to support you without judgment. My role is not to make decisions for you, but to help you feel confident making your own. I provide evidence-informed education, emotional reassurance, physical comfort measures, practical guidance, and a steady presence when things feel uncertain or overwhelming. I believe that informed consent and bodily autonomy are essential, and I encourage families to ask questions, understand their options, and advocate for the care that feels right for them. Birth is only the beginning. Postpartum is a profound transition that deserves just as much care and attention. I support families as they navigate recovery, feeding, sleep, newborn care, shifting relationships, and the emotional changes that come with becoming a parent. My goal is to help you feel cared for while you learn to care for your baby. At the heart of my practice is the belief that you already carry so much wisdom within you. I am not there to tell you what your birth or postpartum experience should look like. I am there to listen, educate, encourage, comfort, and remind you that you don't have to navigate it alone. My doula philosophy is simple: you deserve compassionate care, honest information, respect for your choices, and someone in your corner from pregnancy through those tender first days of parenthood.

Birth & Postpartum Doula services

I provide compassionate, personalized support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My services include birth preparation and education, continuous emotional and physical support during labor, comfort measures, advocacy, and guidance through informed decision-making. Postpartum support includes newborn care, feeding support, recovery guidance, light household assistance, and reassurance as you adjust to life with your new baby. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, confident, and cared for every step of the way.
