About Krissy
Krissy Triggs is the founder of Trigger Wellness, creator of the True Birth and True Care programs, a birth doula, patient advocate, childbirth educator, healthcare navigator, and former student midwife with more than 20 years of experience supporting families through birth, illness, and complex healthcare decisions. A DONA-trained doula, former student midwife, and lactation educator, Krissy brings a perspective few can match. She has personally birthed 13 children across home, birth center, and hospital settings, including natural, medicated, induced, and medically complex births. Alongside her late husband, a trained midwife, she relocated her family to serve and volunteer at birth centers along the U.S.–Mexico border, where their shared commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care deepened. Having supported families in birth settings while also navigating more than 14 major healthcare systems through her own family's serious medical challenges, Krissy has experienced healthcare from both the provider and patient sides of the system. These experiences shaped her balanced, integrative approach—one that values both evidence-based medicine and compassionate advocacy. Through Trigger Wellness, Krissy helps families navigate birth and healthcare with greater confidence, clarity, and connection. She is currently pursuing her undergraduate education with plans to become a Physician Assistant and ultimately a physician, furthering her lifelong mission of improving outcomes through education, advocacy, and compassionate care.

My role as your doula is to provide steady, informed, and deeply present support so you can move through birth feeling connected, supported, and clear—no matter how your birth unfolds. Before Birth: Two 30-Minute Prenatal Consults We begin with two focused prenatal sessions designed to bring clarity and confidence into your birth experience. In our first consult, we’ll talk through your birth preferences, past experiences (if applicable), any fears or questions, and what matters most to you. This is where we align on your goals, values, and support needs so you feel truly seen and heard going into birth. In the second consult, we refine your birth plan into practical, real-time support. We focus on communication tools, decision-making during labor, comfort strategies, partner support, and how to stay grounded if things shift unexpectedly. This is where preparation becomes practical—not theoretical. During Labor: Continuous Doula Support When labor begins, I provide calm, continuous presence—supporting both you and your partner through each stage of the process. My role is not to direct your birth, but to help you stay connected to it. I support you physically with comfort measures, positioning, breath, and relaxation techniques, and emotionally by creating steadiness, reassurance, and focus when intensity rises. I also help translate what is happening in real time so you can make informed decisions without pressure or confusion. When needed, I support communication with your care team so your voice is heard and your preferences are respected. My presence is steady, non-judgmental, and responsive—helping you and your partner stay grounded as a team. The Goal To support a birth experience where you feel informed, respected, and connected—where your partner feels included and confident—and where your experience strengthens the bond between you and your baby and your partner, regardless of how the birth unfolds.

What to expect
I’m Krissy Triggs, founder of Trigger Wellness, where I support families through birth and complex healthcare journeys with calm, grounded guidance and real-world advocacy. I’ve personally birthed 13 children in nearly every setting—home, birth center, and hospital—including both uncomplicated and medically complex experiences. I bring years of hands-on experience working within healthcare systems, which gives me a clear understanding of both the clinical side of care and what it actually feels like to be the one making decisions inside it. Alongside my late husband, a trained midwife, I spent years serving at birth centers along the U.S.–Mexico border, where compassionate, community-centered care deeply shaped my approach. I’ve also navigated major healthcare systems personally through serious illness and family medical crises, which reinforced how essential it is for families to feel informed, supported, and truly heard. My work is about bridging those two worlds—the medical system and the lived experience of the family—so care feels more connected and less fragmented. I focus on creating clarity, trust, and continuity, so birth and healthcare become experiences where families can stay present, communicate well, and move through with greater fulfillment, trust, bonding, and love. Its the beginning of the rest of your life, and you deserve every advantage!
