About me

Hi there! My name is Rain, and I am a newly certified birth doula serving in Escambia County, Florida, and surrounding areas. My journey into birth work started when I became a pro-life advocate. As I learned more and more about life in the womb, I became fascinated with pregnancy. Naturally, that opened the door for me to explore the process of birth, and I saw how beautiful it is. Now, I walk with Mamas who may be coming from a background of fear related to childbirth or motherhood, and as we work through the birth plan and preparations for the big day, I also prioritize the bigger journey taking place, and if desired, we talk about it. Sometimes for hours. Fears, concerns, anxiety, changes that you may not feel ready for yet. My standard of care is setting aside that optional time for you to release all of the thoughts and feelings you may be carrying into your new role, so that you can move forward with confidence that you were not made a mother by accident, and any unknowns can be learned when given the space and time to grow.

Service introduction

Working with me starts with a free consultation. We'll sit down at a park, restaurant, or your home, if you choose, and get to know each other a bit and what you're hoping your labor will look like. If you have a partner, they're welcome and encouraged to join! Following that visit, we'll have 2 prenatal appointments, diving into your birth plan, comfort measures, and practicing how your partner can stay involved in your support. I'll be waiting on your call following 38 weeks gestation, and supporting you through labor. Then, we'll meet one final time, typically 2 weeks after birth for a postpartum visit where we'll talk through your experience, check in on baby's feeding and sleeping patterns, and I'd be blessed to help you with a homekeeping task such as cleaning, childcare, or cooking.
