My name is Kristen. I am a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and pediatric Registered Dietitian (RDN) with over 10 years of experience in hospitals, NICUs, community programs, early intervention, feeding therapy, WIC, and private practice. I have such a passion for advocating for parents and babies during this intimate and vulnerable time, and I love holding space for new families as they navigate parenthood. I believe lactation support should be accessible, realistic, and non-judgmental; my job is to figure out what works for YOU and YOUR baby. Your feeding journey is as unique as you are, and I will always meet you where you're at, hold space for you for the hard times, celebrate your wins, and fiercely support you in your decisions. Outside of my day to day, I am an avid reader, yogi, and artist, and enjoy exploring new coffee shops and breweries with my husband and our dog, where we live outside of Philadelphia, PA.

My specialty is prenatal breastfeeding education, because I believe you have the right to the knowledge to make INFORMED decisions about your feeding journey. After years of 1:1 prenatal education, I decided to record my curriculum to share more widely! My ESSENTIALS program encompasses this self-paced prenatal planning course, followed by accessible, on-demand postpartum support. You get UNLIMITED messaging with myself and my staff, weekly live zoom calls, a virtual support group (moderated, so not the scary Facebook groups!), and optional add-on 1:1 sessions at a discounted rate. Education AND the support are the two pillars of success and feeling confident in your feeding journey. I also offer traditional lactation consultations, virtual or in-home, either prenatally or postpartum. We'll review your goals, medical and feeding history for you and your baby, and offer support to any and all concerns you may have (including but not limited to: latching, pain, oversupply, low milk supply, pumping - exclusive or partial, returning to work, thrush, nipple damage, oral dysfunction/tongue ties, flange sizing, nursing strike, starting solids, weaning, and more!).
I truly don't think I would have been able to breastfeed my baby long term if it weren't for Kristen. She helped me through early postpartum anxiety and pain with latching and nursing. She helped reassure me with every "silly" question that came along. She is a safe person that I felt comfortable sharing each emotion and moment that I felt during pregnancy and postpartum. I felt empowered through the prenatal education and nurtured during the postpartum period. As a pelvic floor therapist, The Lactation Mentor is at the top of my referral list. I emphasize to my clients that it is so important to have a team of perinatal health providers there to support you (lactation, doula, pelvic floor therapist, midwife/OB, chiro, childbirth education, bodywork). Don't hesitate to reach out to Kristen. She will support you like you're her sister. Leanne Markey, OTR/L, Imagine Pelvic Health

I saw Kristen when struggling with mastitis with my third baby and she was so helpful! She provided me with all the most recent research and guidance on treating clogged ducts and mastitis, and I ended up not needing to take the antibiotics! I wish I had started seeing her from the start of my breastfeeding journey!

I worked with Kristen as a lactation consultant both before and after having my son, and I truly can’t recommend her enough. I went into breastfeeding with specific goals. I wanted to nurse at home while also having the flexibility for my son to take bottles at daycare and Kristen helped me confidently make that happen. Her prenatal education gave me such a strong foundation, and her postpartum support was absolutely unmatched. She was always there to answer my questions, ease my concerns, and make me feel seen and validated every step of the way. What really sets Kristen apart is that her support didn’t stop at breastfeeding. She continued to be an incredible resource as we introduced solids and navigated my son’s allergies. She’s not only knowledgeable, but genuinely caring, and that made all the difference. I’m so grateful I found her, she’s been an amazing support and someone I trust completely.

Kristen was so helpful in my breastfeeding journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her, exclusively breastfeeding at 9 months. She helped me so much at the newborn stage not only with actual breastfeeding (latching), regulating my supply, helping me know if my baby was getting enough, and overall answering every question my postpartum brain could think of. 10000000/10 recommend!!
