I’d like to give birth at a birthing center but my husband is leaning towards a hospital. I mainly want it to be a natural birth and to labor how I feel most comfortable. I don’t want to be pressured or pushed by the hospital in any way (including delayed cord clamping, keeping vernix on etc). We live in Playa Del Rey and planning to have a birth in Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills. Our estimate budget is $1500-3000 but this will depend on the available options. I am working with a midwife as my primary care provider, and for now we are planning on a natural birth, preferably no induction (unless medically required), maximizing freedom to move during birth. I want to have an epidural as an option if I need it but I am planning to go without it for as long as possible and see how it goes. I am 25 yo, this is my first baby (a boy). We are looking for a russian speaking doula who will be able to help during birth and also provide guidance in postpartum journey (newborn care, pp recovery). Cleaning / cooking / laundry is unnecessary and is not a primary reason for our search but could definitely be beneficial!

Birth prep, labor and postpartum support

I plan on birthing in San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland CA. I would like to have as least medical interventions as possible however while still in a hospital setting in case it is medically necessary to intervene. I would like to have a doula for supporting my husband and I in preparation for this to be possible as well as postpartum support to help me get settled in as a new mother healing from birthing. I don’t have a set budget as I am unaware of the costs that go into this. But we are willing to work towards meeting our needs. I would like to be informed of all my childbirth options, like how much is covered through my insurance, maternity leave and childcare for when I return to work. I plan to give birth in a hospital. This is my first pregnancy, and I want to try to attempt the whole labor and delivery process without an epidural, if i can or for as long as i can, and if i cant handle it then possibly get an epidural. I need someone to help coach me through the process of labor and delivery when my early labor starts to when i go to hospital and even while pushing. I also need someone to help advocate for me and my husband at the hospital in case the nurses and doctors try over stepping and pushing things on us. We want to avoid certain vaccines for baby as well. I want to avoid getting induced. I also need a doula that will stay after the delivery and help coach me and get me through the pospartum phase in the hospital.
