Lea is very intentional in her own life and that transfers beautifully in the work she does with her clients. If there’s someone you want on your side it’s her! No questions are off limits, she responds quickly, she will gives options rather than just one fix and she truly cares about others. ❤️

Lea is what I would consider love in human form. If you're looking for support through a massive life change (like having a baby!) from someone who knows how to package it with nothing but love, intention, passion, and truth, she is just what you are looking for. I don't know how she does it, but Lea knows how to provide guidance and education and a glimmer of hope and a way to see through your challenges and worries (when you may not see that as possible at the time) with such gentle love, openness, and validation for what you are going through. I can't imagine a better woman to support women's birth experiences throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Truly, if you have the chance to be a client of Lea's, please do yourself a favor and take full advantage of it!

What if I'm not looking for an "unmedicated" or "natural" birth?

You deserve support regardless of how your birth unfolds. My role isn't to push an agenda or promote a specific type of birth. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered in making the decisions that are right for you and your family.

Do you support home, hospital births, and birth center births?

Yes. I support families planning hospital births, birth center births, and home births.

Do you take insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly. This allows me to provide care that is personalized, flexible, and centered on your needs rather than insurance requirements. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

What does "Threshold" mean? What is your philosophy?

A threshold is a point of transition, the space between what was and what comes next. To me, birth is one of life's most profound thresholds. While a baby is being born, a mother is being born too. Regardless of how your birth unfolds, whether it's unmedicated, medicated, induced, cesarean, at home, or in a hospital, you are crossing into a new version of yourself. My passion is supporting women through that transformation. I don't believe there is one "right" way to give birth, and I don't measure the value of a birth by how closely it follows a particular plan. Instead, I believe every woman deserves compassionate, evidence-informed support as she navigates her own path. My goal is not to guide you toward a specific type of birth. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and deeply cared for as you move through one of the most significant transitions of your life.

Why hire a doula?

Your doctor or midwife plays an essential role in keeping you and your baby safe, but they are responsible for your medical care and often caring for multiple patients at once. A doula fills a different role by providing continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout your labor and birth. While partners, family members, and friends can be incredible sources of support, they are experiencing the birth alongside you. They may need breaks, rest, reassurance, or guidance themselves. A doula helps support both you and your loved ones, offering a steady, experienced presence throughout the process. Research has consistently shown that continuous labor support can improve birth outcomes and the overall birth experience. A doula's role is simple but powerful: to help you feel informed, supported, and cared for as you navigate one of life's most significant transitions.
