I am a professionally trained and certified support person who assists the mother and partner in preparing for birth. I provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during labor, birth and beyond. My goal is to help you navigate your pregnancy and labor in a way that makes you feel in control, informed and confident in your body and your decisions. I give non-judgmental support that allows you to create positive memories of an empowering birth experience. My continuous presence during labor surrounds you with words of encouragement and reassurance. I make suggestions for comfort measures, pain management, labor progress and partner involvement. I work seamlessly with your doctors, midwives, nurses and hospital staff as the non-medical part of your birth team. Doula work is my calling.

I provide 2 in-home prenatal meetings to discuss your wishes for this birth, previous experience, concerns and joys of pregnancy. Then, on labor day, I am your consistent support via phone and in person when you are ready. I calmly guide you and your partner through labor with positive reassurance and information to help you make decisions as necessary. I provide initial feeding support whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Then, visit in your home postnatally to process your birth experience and answer any newborn care questions you may have. I also have an extensive resource and referral list for prenatal and postpartum needs.
