I will need help with meals, laundry, a little bit of tidying and some TLC that may be hard for my husband to provide me with as he takes care of our three other kiddos. I plan to have a home birth. I want a hospital birth with an epidural. As a first time Mom with no experience in births or hospitals or babies, the idea of having someone who knows what is happening and what is going to happen sounds like a comfort. I also like the idea of having someone come into my home with a new baby to provide suggestions on breastfeeding, sleep schedules, etc.

I’m interested in having a doula with me at my delivery to help with physical, informational, emotional, advocacy, & partner support. Things such as breathing techniques & massagesc, maybe affirmations or general help with anxiety. Helping me to understand medications & procedures also making sure I’m not being pressured into avoidable procedures & other things. Overall advocacy support, making sure my birthing plan is being followed. By partner support I mean helping my significant other be included & us both calm & level headed. Pretty much just another educated companion to help me have a better birthing outcome.
