The cost of a night nanny in Maple Ridge, BC can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Maple Ridge, BC, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. Jill was a truly remarkable birth and postpartum doula, and the best support we could have asked for through pregnancy, labour, and the early postpartum period. From the start, Jill helped us feel genuinely prepared and confident. Her prenatal support was thoughtful and tailored to our specific plans and preferences, covering everything from labour expectations to newborn care and infant CPR. It felt like a private, customized baby prep course, and because of her guidance, we didn’t feel the need to take any additional classes. During labour, Jill’s presence was exactly right. She gave us space when appropriate but was immediately there when needed. When our labour didn’t unfold as anticipated, she was a calm, steady presence who helped us think through options clearly and confidently during a stressful and unpredictable experience. Postpartum, Jill has continued to be an invaluable resource. She's supported us through the emotional and physical ups and downs of early parenthood with practical advice, reassurance, and effective techniques for settling our little guy. Jill is more expensive than some other doulas—and rightly so. Her experience, time commitment, and depth of care are exceptional. We felt we received incredible value, and it was without question the best investment we made to support ourselves through this major life transition. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

You will not be disappointed with your choice of grace for birth and or postpartum, I have had 2 babies. My first was a very traumatic cesarean, So with my second pregnancy I reached out to grace and asked about her doula care. She made me feel confident in all the decisions I had to make I decided to have a second cesarean so she was not allowed in the operating room with me but she talked me through just about everything that happened, she made me feel confident enough to say what I did and didn’t want from the birth workers. She also helped me find a Midwife to go with, when coming back from the recovery room with my fiancé and I’s new baby we were greeted with a smile and helping hand with whatever we needed. Not to mention grace went above and beyond when it came to postpartum support, she came into my home and helped, she did dishes and folded laundry, helped care for my oldest daughter. She also offered to watch both so I could have a nap. Grace is a superior human and an amazing birth worker, I’m so grateful I had her there with me through every decision In my last birth and you would not be disappointed with her at all.

Laurie Klager

Hi, I’m Laurie I’m so excited to be providing birth and postpartum care. I believe that good support early on means better outcomes for everyone in the family. Birth is a sacred, transformative time in your life—one that deserves to be protected, supported, and celebrated. As a mother to four kids (now aged 12 to 22!), I know firsthand how deeply impactful the transition into parenthood is, and how much the right support matters. I completed my professional training through the Douglas College Doula Training Program in June 2026 and am certified to support all types of birth, postpartum journeys, and pregnancy loss. My goal is to provide a calm, steady, trauma informed and completely non-judgmental presence for your entire family as you navigate these major life changes. Before answering this calling, I spent years caring for people in different ways. I worked as a hairstylist from home while my children were small, and later ran a cozy home bakery for eight years. Today, I weave all of those unique caregiving skills into my doula work—whether that means braiding your hair during labor, baking a nourishing treat for your kitchen counter, or simply holding space so you feel taken care of. When I’m not supporting growing families, you can find me walking the local trails, tending to the plants in my yard, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying time with my family. And yes, if you caught the nod in my business name—I am a massive, long-time fan of ‘Call the Midwife’.
