About me

I am a mother and professional nanny who was nurtured during my prenatal and postpartum periods, which I am grateful for. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and newborn care specialist, but what I offer is not expert advice. There is an overload of information now that seems overwhelming to new mothers. I offer the knowledge that motherhood is a rite of passage that occurs naturally with guidance and companionship, not a list of tasks to do and information to learn. Motherhood is learned through experience and by being surrounded by caring mothers. I am available for prenatal visits to help prepare mothers for their birth. I am available for the whole birth or the beginning phase of birth to be present in your home before the transition to the hospital. I am also available postpartum to help make your transition with your new baby easier. My daily postpartum shifts are a minimum of 3 hours, which can include some meal prep, if desired. I am also available for 2 overnight shifts per week after the baby is born. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to talk about your specific needs and goals. Please feel free to email me to schedule a call Mary Bascom

Service introduction

I offer prenatal coaching to help you navigate the prenatal, birth and postpartum period to make it your own. There is some childbirth instruction as well as processing the emotions surrounding birth as well as how birth is managed in the hospital and birth center setting. During birth I offer several comfort measures which can be discussed. During postpartum we can connect for practical help at home or just to talk about life with your new baby!

Packages
Prenatal, birth coaching, postnatal care
I offer 3 total hours of prenatal coaching, which can be 30 minute to one hour sessions. To make birth support more affordable and flexible, I offer an hourly rate I am available to go to the hospital, but many women find with proper coaching and preparation, they are happy with support at home before the transition to the hospital. The max for hospital support is 850$. I also offer postpartum support which can be discussed at my hourly rate.
