Welcome to Doula Things with Mel. I’m Melanie Sandoval, a full-spectrum doula with over six years of experience supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, loss, and every phase in between. My work is grounded in evidence-based care and guided by a trauma-informed approach. I am also a certified breastfeeding educator and childbirth educator, committed to creating spaces where families feel informed, empowered, and supported. As a proud first-generation Mexican-American, I offer bilingual services in English and Spanish, centering cultural humility and community care in everything I do. At the core of my philosophy is the belief that birth is not just a medical event — it’s a deeply personal, emotional, and transformative experience. I approach each relationship with compassion, respect, and a commitment to listening deeply. Whether I’m teaching, providing hands-on support, or simply holding space, my goal is to meet people where they are and ensure they feel seen, heard, and valued throughout their journey.
