I am a therapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults providing individual and family therapy. I specializes in the areas of depression and mood disorders, anxiety and stress management, grief and loss, life transition, trauma, and women's issues. I have been licensed in Montana as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2003, licensed in Oregon as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2016, credentialed as a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors since 2004, and credentialed as a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) (formerly identified as a Distance Credentialed Counselor) since 2016. I became nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in January 2018 and also completed EMDRIA-Approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training in September 2017. I intend to seek advanced EMDR training and consultation in order to become certified as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist. I received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University in 2001. My therapeutic approach tends to be eclectic with a preference towards using EMDR and a cognitive behavioral approach well as utilization of sand play, art therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) constructs. My approach also is based on my Christian world view and values. I have practiced counseling for over 15 years in various settings including residential, school-based (CSCT) services, outpatient care, and private practice. I also enjoyed working as an adjunct instructor teaching online human services college courses to students pursuing Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degrees at Kaplan University from 2010 to 2015. I have been a member of the American Counseling Association since 1998, a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, and a member of EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) since 2018. I also was an active mental health disaster relief volunteer for the American Red Cross from 2005 to 2007. I have a special interest in Christian counseling and home, financial, and life organization and management.
