Hello, We believe we are struggling to provide enough milk for our 1 week old baby. We're not sure whether it's a matter of her latching on properly or just low production on demand milk. We would like to see a consultant to assist us in coming up with the best plan to help our baby get the most milk possible. Currently she needs to be topped up with formula almost every feeding time. My wife feeds her at the breast at least 10 times a day plus additional 2-4 times of formula. Typically 15-30 minute feeding periods until baby moves away from breast. I'm looking for someone who is a certified lactation consultant. Who has experience with how to transition baby's from bottle to breast. My budget is $150. I'm currently pumping and bottle feeding my three month old twins. They were born at 36 weeks and three days. Weighing 5 lbs and 6 lbs. They're currently weighing 11 lbs and 12 lbs. My Older twin used a feeding tube for about two months, she is now bottle feeding beautifully. My goal is to breastfeed both girls. At this time they are not latching on very easily and tent to get upset if I try for too long. I'm just not sure how to best transition them onto the breast, or if I have waiting too long to start transitioning. I was able to breastfeed my son (their older brother who is now three) until he was almost two years old.
