Looking for a doula to assist in my unmedicated birth, and possibly a night nurse. For doula, still debating between hospital and birthing center

I'm currently exploring postpartum support to help me and my husband get settled in at home with our first baby. This might include lactation consulting, advice on newborn care, and light housework during birth recovery. Support with cooking postpartum meals would be a great bonus. We'd like someone with at least a bit of experience (1+ year/a handful of families) since we are brand new to this! I am estimating my budget to be $2000 but may update. Insurance is Cigna Open Access Plus.

Hi! I’m starting to look into postpartum support for our second baby, due March 13th. We’re located in Shawnee on the Delaware, PA, right over the NJ border. I will have a separate comfortable bedroom for you! I’m interested in overnight newborn support for possibly the first 1–2 weeks after delivery, with the option to transition into some daytime support afterward. I do plan to exclusively breastfeed, so I’m looking for someone who can support nighttime feeds, diaper changes, soothing, settling baby back to sleep, and generally help make those early weeks a little smoother. The doula must be certified through DONA International, ICEA or National Black Doula's Association as a doula. Must speak English. Must have at least 5-6 years experience. I need a Doula to help with the baby after birth, during the day for 3-4 days the beginning, help with washing the baby and changing diapers and then just at night to wash and feed the baby, rock the baby back to sleep or change diapers, etc as needed. My budget is max $2,500, I’d like to have someone for at least 2 weeks if not 3 weeks after birth, depending on their rate. Will be helpful if they also can help take out the garbage to the curb, since I hear babies go through diapers very quickly. (I also need help with feeding the cat, 1-2 times at night if he cries for food as well). This is my first child, so I may also need some training and advice on what to do.

First-time parents seeking an experienced newborn night nurse/care specialist or postpartum doula to provide overnight support for our baby girl during the first 6–8 weeks after birth (starting late September 2026). Schedule is flexible, likely around 10 PM to 7 AM. We are looking for someone with extensive newborn experience who can provide expert overnight care, assist with feeding, soothing, and sleep routines, and offer guidance and reassurance to new parents.
