Hi, we’re Jonathan and Brenda Endelman. We’re expecting our first baby, due February 12, 2027, and live in Baltimore. We plan to give birth at Sinai Hospital. We’re looking for a birth doula to support Brenda throughout labor and delivery, with Jonathan as her primary birth partner. We’re also interested in prenatal preparation and postpartum support. We want to prepare thoroughly while remaining flexible about how the birth unfolds, with a safe, healthy delivery and informed decision-making as our priorities. We’d appreciate support with comfort measures, positioning, breathing, relaxation, and navigating the stages of labor. Jonathan would also like guidance on being an active, hands-on support person. We’re interested in postpartum guidance with the transition home, newborn care, and breastfeeding/feeding support if within the doula’s scope. Insurance: CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield — CareFirst BlueChoice Open Access. CareFirst has confirmed that doula services are a covered benefit. We’re therefore looking for a certified doula who accepts and can bill CareFirst, with the goal of having the service covered with little or no out-of-pocket cost. Provider preferences: We’re looking for someone experienced, dependable, calm, communicative, and comfortable supporting a hospital birth at Sinai. We’d appreciate being matched with someone available around our February 2027 due date.

TBD I seek advice on a supportive facility for VBAC close to Silver Spring. I plan to give birth at a hospital. I would love to have a vaginal birth and be able to breastfeed. My budget is around $500.

We’re moving midway through the pregnancy to the DC region, Maryland side. We’ll probably live in the Rockville area but I’m hoping to give birth with the midwives at George Washington University’s hospital. I’m looking for a labor doula to support an unmediated birth. I also struggled with low supply with my first child so I’m hoping to find a lactation consultant who specialises in that. We have Tricare, which covers both doulas and IBCLCs.

I am looking for pregnancy and birth doula support.

I’m looking for additional support that is affordable for labor and potentially post-partum. My husband is amazing and will be there, but my research suggests that having a doula can help to avoid unnecessary C-sections and episiotomies. I am NOT looking to do a natural birth and my research concludes that I absolutely will want an epidural, as the benefits outweigh the labor pain risks for me. That being said, I want an advocate who understands birthing. Someone who will be able to communicate with the doctors in instances where I cannot. I can’t expect my husband to do all of this, and I may be incapacitated/not thinking straight. Looking for someone with experience supporting brown and black mothers, being our advocates, and standing up for us for our needs and wants. For example, I’d like to do a vaginal birth with an epidural, and be able to move around and be in the best position, whatever it takes for labor to go the most smoothly if it is uncomplicated. I also want to be sure that the baby received skin to skin contact from both me and my husband. Other than that, I’d like to simply learn more about the support I’d receive as well as potentially have someone with the right touch to provide massage or comfort during this time. This is my first child and I’d like to ease my anxiety as much as possible. I’d like to understand the types of support I could get for about $1,500 but we can discuss options. We plan to give birth at Georgetown University Hospital and I am currently a Medstar patient.

I need a birth doula for sure. I plan to give birth at Sibley hospital in DC. Budget is negotiable, although I'd like to stay under $2,000 if possible. I would like someone with at least 5 years' experience. I'm a 46-year-old first-time mom. My insurance provider is Carefirst BCBS. Doulas are a covered benefit. I have a BluePreferred PPO plan. I'd also like information about lactation consultants and night nannies. Thank you!

First baby, I’m delivering in Maryland. I plan to deliver unmedicated. I just need the support to push through & be able to decline pitocin, cervical checks things like this unless absolutely necessary. I do have a budget but I would like to know what the normal cost is.

Our first baby is due October 19th and will be delivered in a hospital. I plan to have an epidural but would still like the support and knowledge of a doula to ease anxiety. Not sure of a budget right now.

I have had 4 birth C-Sections and 1 ectopic pregnancy that lead to me having a surgery…I would love to not have another c-section and I just need someone there for me to advocate for myself..I would love to have a hospital birth.I don’t know how much any of this cost
