Hi! I’m willnelda. Im looking for a midwife for a home birth, who accepts healthfirst Medicaid insurance. I have a doula and birth plan still developing. First time mom (13 weeks).
I plan to give birth in the hospital on Medicaid insurance. A Medicated birth but not induced.
I want to do it in a calm setting and I would like an affordable price. Birth Plan Environment & Labor Preferences: I would like a calm and relaxed environment with dim lighting. I prefer to move around freely during labor and try different pushing positions. I do not want coached or forced pushing and would like to follow my body’s natural urges. I would also like to eat and drink freely during labor. Medical Preferences: I prefer limited cervical checks and would like to avoid an epidural unless it becomes medically necessary. Delivery & Immediately After Birth: I would like delayed cord clamping until the cord turns white. I want immediate skin-to-skin contact after birth. Newborn Care: I prefer that the baby is gently wiped off instead of bathed right away, and I do not want a bath during the hospital stay. I do not want the Hep B vaccine given at birth. Feeding & Bonding: I plan to breastfeed and would like support with breastfeeding. I prefer that my baby stays in the room with me at all times (no nursery). Support People: I would like my husband and my mother present for support. I would like my husband to cut the umbilical cord
I moved to Billings in the last year so I do not know the layout well but I believe I am considered to live on the west end. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first and blood work shows that I am having a girl with no genetic abnormality factors. My due date is September 8th 2026. I am in need of pre-natal check ups and potentially a 20 week anatomy scan. My current OBGYN is not trustworthy and has read other patients charts instead of mine for both of the appointments that I've had. I am looking to have a home birth if possible or potentially at a birthing center but I do not know much about those. My husband travels for work and we are not sure if he will be in the state when I go into labor. Regardless, I do not want an epidural, or Pitocin. I do want to delay cord clamping until after the blood has fully transferred and would like minimal interventions while in active labor (minimal cervical checks, etc.). I am still researching the initial vaccines but believe that I will be foregoing and/or delaying at least some of them.
