I am planning to give birth in a hospital and am looking for a certified doula who accepts or is familiar with TRICARE Prime coverage. I'm not sure what to expect regarding the cost, so I am hoping to find someone whose services are covered by TRICARE or eligible for reimbursement. I am due on November 20, 2026. My birth plan is to try a low-dose epidural at first, with the option to increase it if needed. My goal is to have the best pain relief possible while maintaining safety for me and my baby. I prefer to avoid Pitocin unless it is medically necessary. I would also like to avoid giving birth flat on my back if possible and would prefer to labor and deliver in side-lying or other upright, supported positions as appropriate. During labor, I would like to use comfort measures such as a birth ball, peanut ball, and squat bar, and I prefer intermittent fetal monitoring if it is safe for me and my baby. After birth, I would like delayed cord clamping, to leave the vernix on my baby rather than wiping it off immediately, and to have uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact with either me or the baby's father for about the first hour before routine newborn assessments, provided my baby is healthy and does not require urgent medical care. I would prefer to delay the hospital bath and decline routine eye ointment unless it is medically necessary or required. I understand that my birth preferences may need to change if there is a medical concern for me or my baby. I am looking for a certified doula with at least 10 years of experience supporting hospital births. I am 28 years old, this is my first pregnancy, and I plan to breastfeed if possible but am open to supplementing with formula if medically necessary. I would also appreciate postpartum support, including newborn education, breastfeeding guidance, and sleep training support after my baby is born. Most importantly, I am looking for a doula who complements my husband's role rather than replaces it. As first-time parents, we want someone who can help create a calm, low-stress environment, guide my husband on ways to comfort and support me during labor, and empower us to work together as a team throughout the birth experience.

I’m open to giving birth wherever it’s possible, preferably hospital because it’s safer but I’m open to home birth too, if I get enough of education and coaching. I am also going to be alone for this, my husband works nights, my family doesn’t live around, my mom can come to be with me few times a year for a bit. I’d pay using anthem ppo. Want to reduce the cesarean and I’m open to pain meds, as I have low pain tolerance. I get anxious and tend to be panicky. Hospital birth with home labor in Vista as long as possible. I’m hoping for natural, no intervention and hands off birth. Iv been very low risk and plan for that to continue. We are looking for someone to help be our advocate at the hospital, as we know sometimes a lot of pressure can be placed on the birthing parent while in labor so just another voice to reinforce my wants. However, we have flexibility in mind as I know how fast things can change but I do believe in the body and its ability to deliver children independently if allowed to!

I’m a Christian, and I’m really looking for a doula who can support me physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout this pregnancy and birth. I’m hoping to have an unmedicated, natural birth and would love to learn breathing techniques, labor positions, and different coping strategies to help me prepare. I’m honestly scared, and one of my biggest goals is to have a positive birth experience and to avoid tearing entirely if possible. I want to learn everything I can to prepare my body and reduce my risk of tearing. I also want to learn more about nutrition during pregnancy, including organic foods and understanding healthy versus less-healthy carbohydrates. I plan to breastfeed again and would love support with preparing for that as well. I also have questions about healthy weight management during pregnancy and postpartum and would love guidance on how to safely care for my body while making sure my baby is properly nourished. My husband and I are separated, but I would like him to be able to learn how to support me during pregnancy and birth if he is willing. I would appreciate a doula who can help educate both of us on what genuine, respectful support can look like during labor and delivery. As a Black mother and woman, I’m also very aware of the disparities and racism Black women can face within the healthcare system. Having someone who can advocate for me, help me understand my options, and make sure my voice is heard and respected during such a vulnerable experience is extremely important to me.
