Due date or baby's birthday: April 20, 2024
I am getting VERY intense nipple pain when my baby breastfeed and for a few minutes after, sometimes up to 15 minutes. Also, the nipples remain very sensitive all day long. I did some research and can rule out the following: - I do not have blocked ducts - there’s no sign of thrush - she is 10 months and has been latching very well - she’s never had a tongue-tie Just wondering what could cause this and what solutions might be possible? |

I’m a first time mom, currently 12 weeks pregnant and I also recently broke up with the father of the child so I will also be a single mom. For this reason my budget is unfortunately a little tight as I don’t have the support or a partner. I would like to learn more about the costs of different services and I don’t have too much experience with birth and babies so I would love all the support and education I can get in order to have a healthy pregnancy, delivery and a happy and healthy baby. I also was hoping to learn more about giving birth at a birthing centre or doing a home birth if possible. |

Katorah is looking for Birth Doula, Lactation Consultant, Postpartum Doula
|
Location: Fort Drum, NY 13603, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: December 23, 2025
Hello! My name is Katorah Hulsizer, I am currently 14 weeks and researching my options. This is my birth plan so far... Birth Location: The Car-Freshner Center of Women and Children at Samaritan in Watertown, NY. Due Date: December 23, 2025 Support Team: Aidan Hulsizer (Husband & primary support), Janine Gerhart (mother) My goal: To have a calm, natural, low-intervention birth where I feel respected, safe, and fully in control of my body and choices. I ask that all care providers communicate clearly with me and receive my consent before any actions. Environment & General Preferences I would like dim lighting, and a positive, peaceful, supportive atmosphere. Please speak softly, and limit interruptions unless medically necessary. I want freedom to move, labor, and deliver in positions — I do not want to be confined to the bed. I would LOVE to do a water birth if possible. No cervical checks or physical contact without my clear verbal consent. I will not begin pushing just because I’m 10cm dilated — I will wait for the natural urge to push/my body's cues. Comfort Measures / Labor Environment Preferences I would like access to a birthing ball, bathtub, ice chips, popsicles, water, honey, lemon water, and cool cloths throughout labor and delivery. I prefer to use upright, forward-leaning, and active labor positions, including bouncing or leaning on the birthing ball. Please support my use of movement (walking, swaying, changing positions) as much as possible. I would like a calm, dimly lit room. I welcome touch or massage from my partner as a comfort measure. Pain Management & Interventions I am open to researching laughing gas as a pain management option. I do not want an epidural or any narcotic pain medication. Please do not offer or suggest pain medication unless I specifically request it. I do not want an IV or to be connected to any needles or fluids while giving birth unless there is a true emergency. I prefer no artificial rupture of membranes or augmentation (like Pitocin) unless there is a life-threatening situation. I am open to coached pushing and controlled breathing methods, but I do not want forced or “purple pushing.” I will push in a way that honors my body’s cues, and I ask for calm, encouraging support if needed. Monitoring & Exams I request intermittent fetal monitoring, not continuous, unless medically required. Please explain all procedures or suggestions before performing them — and only proceed with my consent. Limit cervical exams — only perform if I request or approve. Delivery & Immediate Postpartum I do not want my baby taken away for any routine procedures in the first hour. We want immediate and uninterrupted skin-to-skin. My baby will never be taken anywhere without myself or my husband present. My husband and I would like to give the baby his first bath ourselves. We are bringing our own products for baby. We want to do delayed cord clamping and cutting — wait until the cord is completely white and has stopped pulsating. Please do not pull, massage, or “scoop out” the placenta. I would like to deliver it naturally and in my own time. Newborn Procedures We Are Researching Vitamin K injection Erythromycin eye ointment Hepatitis B or other newborn shots Suctioning Any topical or oral product applied to or given to the baby Circumcision We are planning to have our son circumcised, but only with our full knowledge and informed consent. In Case of Emergency Please communicate clearly what is happening and what the options are. If possible, give us a moment to discuss as a couple before decisions are made. I will ask questions and consent to any procedures that feel right to me. I do not accept blood transfusions. I will accept only blood fractions. Acceptable blood fractions: ✔️ Plasma fractions ✔️ White cell fractions ✔️ Platelet fractions ✔️ Red cell fractions Unacceptable blood components: ❌ Whole blood ❌ Plasma ❌ White cells ❌ Platelets ❌ Red cells I am looking for a doula that is covered through TRICARE Select. |

My baby is only 5 days old I can’t seem to get a great latch my nipples are very raw and cracking. She is gumming them and not taking in whole ariola. I’ve tried nipple to lip and a few different positions but Im still very uncomfortable. Switched to pumping for a day to give myself a break and that’s the only thing that is working right now. Also, have been lubricating with my milk and also with lanolin cream. Looking for someone English speaking and takes UMR or Medicaid insurance. |

Baby has latched perfectly during our hospital stay (3 days) after a c-section , once we got home he started getting fussy because my milk came in changing the size of my nipples (I have flat nipples) he would latch and unlatch constantly but was getting enough milk as he’s gaining weight (we also heard swallowing) and could see milk in his mouth. Once he unlatches he’s so hard to latch him back on because he is so upset. We thought maybe milk flow was too strong so we’ve tried laying down and laid back positions which seem to upset him too. We want to breastfeed and bottle feed. Pediatrician said breastfeed for 20mins max then switch to bottle bc he was breastfeeding for hours at a time. Been using a nipple shield which he doesn’t seem to mind but is inpatient for the letdown so it takes some time to calm him down to latch properly. Also wondering how to increase my milk supply the most I’ve pumped is 3ounces but usually pump half an ounce to 1 ounce each time. We also combo feed so breast milk and formula |

Location: Oswego, NY 13126, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: October 28, 2024
I need help getting my supply up through pumping. When I had my baby he had a hard time latching and had a tongue tie. I worked on it and it still didn’t get better. Then his pediatrician said we had to use formula since he wasn’t gaining weight. I then got to the stomach flu and was too sick and afraid to get him sick and made a bad decision by not latching or pumping so what little supply I had tanked even more. I’ve been pumping every two hours and working on upping my supply but I can only get about 4 oz a day and he drinks 3 ounces per bottle. |
