I plan to give birth at a hospital or a birth suite right next to a hospital. I care about an unmedicated birth as long as my baby or I are not in danger. Because I’m giving birth in a hospital I want someone who knows hospital policies and can help advocate for me when they suggest something that isn’t necessary. I want someone who will help keep me calm especially when I’m transitioning.

I will be giving birth at the Lethbridge hospital. I was unable to get a midwife so I am looking at potentially getting a doula to support me in having an unmedicated birth. My fiance is extremely supportive and will want to do anything he can to help but he lacks the vast knowledge of different coping mechanisms that a doula would have.

I’d like to have as natural of a birth as possible with minimal medical intervention if everything goes smoothly. I would prefer a home birth, but understand that some complications may change that, if any show up in the pregnancy. We're hoping to stay under $5000. I want to try for a natural birth, using essential oils to help with pain and bleeding. I think a water birth could be nice. I just don't want tp lay on my back, as that has never been comfortable for me, even before pregnancy. I dont want to interfere with things to make them go faster. I would like my body to be properly dilated at its own pace, and birth the placenta when it is ready to come out, rather than tugging the umbilical cord. I do not want to pull the baby's head for a one push delivery. I think a two push delivery is safe, if the baby doesn't completely exit first push.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in Late September. We have family here in the valley but we've been advised on the benefits of hiring a doula for both the birthing and postpartum phases. My wife has expressed to me the difficulties she's had with managing anxieties about things that can go wrong so any resources we can use to prepare for both pre and post partum depression would be something we're interested in too. We'd like to have those resources identified and ready to take advantage of before we need them. We are currently planning on scheduling the birth at IMC.

We are planning on a hospital birth at the University of Utah. If covered by insurance, we will rely on the Regence BCBS budget. We plan for an unmedicated birth but are open to nitrous for pain management and in worst case scenarios will listen to medical advice on induction/pain mgmt/c-section. I'm transgender and prefer LGBTQ+ friendly providers with experience with trans parents. We are covered by regence blue cross blue shield through the university of utah.

This is our first baby, with the exception of a previous miscarriage. I don’t know exactly what my birth plan is or what should go into a birth plan. I just know I want it to be slow and calm as much as possible. I’m looking for someone who will take the time to help educate me more about pregnancy and birth and help find confidence in the process. Im looking into what my options are for a doula in Lethbridge that maybe our insurance could cover the cost of? I don’t have a budget because we don’t really have extra funds to pay out of pocket so I’m mostly wondering if finding someone we can afford is even possible. I am planning on giving birth in lethbridge at the hospital, my dream is to be able to have a water birth or at least using a tub through labor and I hope to avoid getting an epidural.
